That store buys things. Opposite of what I thought.

And then sells them on eBay. They offer 1.25 for SF3rd Strike and then sell it for $35.

Hey, there's people who are dumb enough to give it to Gamestop/EB for $3...so they might as well get in on the stealing, I mean buying, too! :smt043

Man, they pay like a 20th of what Funcoland used to. They have low quotes to cover their asses. Afterall, lots of people keep their stuff in a shitpile. Still, their maximum trade in quotes are insulting. Cold day in hell I wouldn't accept a Dragon Warrior 4 for $0.50 just because it has a rental sticker/rattle on/in it. At least they pay $25 for a Neo AES ;)

I have a feeling someone here is gonna try to get these people/ person in trouble for buying pirated games. Actually, if this company is buying the pirated software, you could make a whole lotta money if you made say...50,000 copies. :smt043

Anyone who buys broken consoles for $1 and resells them without fixing for $20 deserves to be jailed.

We had a little computer store in our town that had crap like that going on. Selling you a "new" computer, and the box says refurbished. :angry
Our pawn shop does crap like that, too. I bought Saga frontier from DANNY'S PAWN SHOP for $20.00 and took it home. It was plastic sealed, Said to be "mint" condition. I came to the conclusion it was shrinkwrapped, too. I opened it to play it, and the screen wouldnt even load. I took it back and he said he wouldnt give me a refund but he would buy it back for...$5.00. Damn dumbass bitch cheatin' loser...I never shopped in there, ever again. :angry
The little computer store got shut down, but I hear that that guy who created it is thinking of opening up again...ironically nest to Danny's pawn shop. Maybe they will trade info on how to CHEAT PEOPLE!!!

We have a store like that in the UK

I am sure most UK based people will concur on this :smt023

But then a freind is a manager of my local Gamestation and their instructions are to make 50-100% mark up on "ALL" traded in stuff. Not bad for virtually no outlay at all.

I used to work at Gamestop as a manager and they would rob the customer. THings that should cost alot they would give a dime to. Once i had a lady bring mint SNES stuff system games all in the box and most of the boxes still had plastic on them a few weren't opened. We ended up giving her 35 bucks for system and 45 games. I told her i would give her 50 to a 100 for all of it because i felt bad. I did the same thing for another guy who had saturn dreamcast and a japanese mega drive and 2 game gears (loads of games for each) we would give him 65 for all i ended giving 80 for it all (he was a stoner ass). When Gamestop learned of what i was doing they yelled at me and said they would fire me because i was taking away from the ebay sales which is a big no no.
I hate Gamestop and EB but not as much as Best Buys.

  13. There was the world's dodgiest 'game store' in Nottingham about 6yrs ago. They chipped PSXs, sold accesories, and also CD burners and blank disks. No official games. Hmmmm

Matey just sat behind the counter chipping away all day. It closed down about 5yrs ago!

Hang on...ebay sales? Are you saying that Gamestop actually puts items up on ebay?

Cause there's a lot of stuff that Gamestop just flat out will not buy back, and most if it is rare. For instance, last I checked, they will not buy back CDXs (indirectly thus how I got mine, from a disgruntled would-be customer)

I'd give my right arm for a bajillion people coming to me asking me to buy back their games. Those places have a goldmine going. You break even on the not-rare stuff, and then make a killing on the collectibles.

It looks like a privately held company though, I wonder what it'd value up at.....

I know EBGames sells systems in bulk on ebay, but I'm not sure about games/single systems. I'm pretty sure they do.

yeah they do it all the time.. and they charge out god awful shipping.
I laughed because you can get broken shit from ebay and gamestop website but you can't bring it back to the stores.

How do you know you're looking at one of their auctions?

I mean, the seller isn't like "Gamestop", is it?

I wonder who there is in charge of doing all that crap, and how much time it takes up to create all the auctions, etc..

I almost wonder if Gamestop as a whole would be interested in outsourcing that little business to someone like me. :-D
