Someone from Paypal called me yesterday, asking about a transaction I made last week. They knew my name, my tel #, who i sent the $$ to, for how much and the date (so prob was paypal, but i didnt give up any info) He was calling to see if i got the product that i bought, now ive had a paypal acct for 3 years, this is the first time they EVER called me, nevermind calling to see if i got something! Anyone else get a similiar call?
Maybe it was because of the PS Dev CDs? If not, then that's weird that they'd call. EDIT: Nevermind. I should've read the entire post.
Thing is that the transaction they talked about occured on the 15th...way before I even saw the dev cd's!
Could be a person you bought from had several claims against them and they (PP) are checking them out.
I thought that too, but i contacted the person (a very reputable person) and they had nada against them!
Umm while talking about paypal... Has anyone had negative funds in their account before? They have claimed some cash back from a transaction that was aparently fradulent. Now i have negative funds as i transfered the cash to my account... Umm should i put the cash back into my paypal account!
Yeah, you might want to or there gonna start to go after your credit card and or bank account for the difference :/
I don't think they can go after your CC or bank account. I would read the terms again if I were you. I would NOT put any money back in that PP account or use it at all. If someone sends you money they will take that for sure.
Umm i sold an item on ebay. The person paid via paypal instantly. Today paypal took the money back because the account had been hacked. However by that time money was in my account already. I had it transfered to my account before they put the money on "hold". It says i should deposit the cash back into my account or i might lose the ability to use the acount. Now for £125 i dont mind but i dont want to be taken to court or crap like that...
Did you send the item? I really doubt they'd take you to court for such a small amount. Hell, the lawyer fees alone would make them think twice. If it was me and I sent the item and would be out the money... screw them. If you didn't send it, then I'd give it back after I made sure it was for real.
No, Paypal will do some extreme shit. They are amazing assholes and a pretty ridiculous "company" with some equalling distrubing business practices. Go to paypalsucks.com for some very frightening shit about Paypal. Anywho, what they'll do is try to take the money out of your bank account or credit card (unauthorised, and w/o telling you). If you put the money back into your account then you are fine and won't have to deal with their infantile and ridiculous attempts at your money, but you will have lost that cash.
Another lot of awful companies are the ones that send you text messages sounding like they are from a friend so you reply but are charged £1.50+ or send you porn messages every day even though you havnt subscribed but are still charged at the end of the month. The day my brother got his phone he got three such messages, despite not subscribing to anything at all, in his first month he got charged £150 for these text messages. Despite many attempts to stop them sending the messages to his phone the companies have nothing but an answering machine and the trading address for the company is fake Vodafone now refunds his account for any such text messages every month, despite Vodafone apparently blocking text messages charged at that rate he still recieves them, shocking. Well done on Vodafone, Shit on the company that does this to people, just wish someone would have been at the address we got when we went to see them :smt014 Be careful guys if you get any such messages, a lot of people have been scammed by the pictures one wondering why they are being sent images daily (it`s not just porn they send either, I read of one sending pictures of sports cars), they only find out after they recieve there bill and many mobile companies will say it`s your fault. Who the fork would pay £1.50 for a picture of anything on a mobile :-(
I had this exact same thing happen to me before eBay got PayPal. Some cock-suck on eBay.com used his friends account to pay for one of my items then some time later PayPal said that in three days time they would take the money back from my account (leaving it -$$$s). I sent them over 20 emails and got ZERO replies... so I just took my card details off the account & stayed the fuck away from the ignorant twats. Recently opened up another with a different card when I had no choice but to pay by PayPal for some had-to-buy stuff. kevin
