hey i recently bought a devkit black with sidecar and saw a weird halo xexs. i dont play or like halo much, im more into cod, but it appears to be an alpha. how can i rip this to my hdd to look at the files?? when i boot it i get a message saying: "Do not show this to anyone. Do not show screenshots to anyone. Do not talk about this, post about this, blog about this, complain about this, brag about this, or write about this (outside the sanctity of our beloved BetaPlace, of course). Otherwise, ninjas will be sent to bring ruin on your house and your house's houses. And I don't mean those punkass run of the mill MSNinjas. I mean the other ninjas. The cool ones. The ones on fire.. Yeah. That's right Love, Bungie" if anyone can help it'd help alott thx. also what does it mean if it says prerelease hardware? its some sort of xbox made before release? or what. pic of my dash by the way, i blured out all tracable information also just incase. http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/7783/h3alphaacopy.png like i said thx alot guys.
hmm with out seeing the main menu or title screen we can not know if its a true alpha build or not....we simply need more info
1) None of the information you blurred is traceable. I'll never understand why people think that a private IP address is traceable. *shakes head* 2) From what you're describing it is likely a development copy of the Microsoft only, employee only, multiplayer beta. Despite the warning, people talked about it. 3) To get the XEX off the system you'll need the neighborhood app. Without that you'll need to remove the hard drive and connect it to a PC with a connectivity kit and use one of the many tools to read files off an Xbox 360 hard drive. -hl718
No you don't. Not if you yank the drive out. You can use any number of third party apps to mount an Xbox 360 hard drive. It's not terribly difficult. Oh and Diminished, if you haven't figured it out yet, you've got something that all the Halo fanboys are going to want. I don't know how many forums you've posted on about this, but be prepared for the begging to commence. -hl718
LOL, did anyone actually look at his screenshot dump ? Under the 2 Halo 3 xex's the guy has libnet.xex and the looniebrowser.xex all the guy has to do is to lunch libnet.xbx and just FTP whatever he wants with a normal FTP client on his PC, using the xbox game ip (not the devkit ip) for server connection. password/user is probably xbox/xbox
Haha this guys knows exactly what he's doing, as well as having all the stuff to transfer the content. I think he was just playing dumb. He's not been back in awhile, plus he game around the same time as the stuff that was disabling the fans in the dev kits, I wonder who would know how to do that?
