Not sure if this iis in the right place so feel free to move it:icon_bigg.

I got a job lot of MD games through the post from Oz this morning. I bought it for the pirate games included, in particular Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions which to my knowledge was never released on the MD. The game is definitely a pirate - euro style cart with a slot in the side, cover made from a magazine review that states how bad the game is:lol:. I plugged it in and up came the title screen: DD the Marvin missions, i pressed start and Hey Presto! the opening sequence for DD in Hollywood pops up. I'm not too gutted about it, it's still a nice oddity for my collection, but i am curious whether anyone has seen anything like this before. I mean, why go to the effort of changing the title screen, printing new cart stickers/inlays when you could just copy the existing game/artwork?

    Any ideas?

There are many bizarre and funny pirates for the MD. Especially the ones that are completely new games, like Lion King 2, 3, Harry Potter and things like that.

Lots of marios. One is a copy of the snes all stars version and plays pretty well. Another you pick up blocks to throw, it plays pretty bad. 2 good scrolling fighters too. I love 'original' md pirates, non existing legit md games, so includes kofs/tekkens for example, but not too big on the multicarts or just blatant fakes. Got a nice pang clone actually too.

I don't think so, the only Mario-like game I've seen looked a lot like the NES Chip n' Dale, only with different levels and MD graphic quality. Also I don't think that the MegaDrive is powerful enough to handle a port of All-Stars, didn't the MD have a 1 MB cart size limit?

There is a port of Super Mario (4) on the Mega Drive which is very good ! The Mega Drive is just as powerful as the SFC minus the rotation effects and colour limitations but eventhey can be worked around with some fancy programming (at the expense of the CPU mind you)

4MB, actually, but that can be worked around (SSF2T did it, for instance). But it should be enough for any Mario game anyway.

No, but I'm sure you can find some on the net. wheelaa even owns the original cart from what I remember.

Ah sorry, I wasn't too clear.

There's an MD version of the original SMB, but its the All Stars version, not the FC one. Buts its only SMB, none of the others.

There's also Sonic 6 (or Sonic Jam 6) which is as above but with Sonic player characters. (I think..never bothered to play my copy)

Anyway afew pics of Sonic 6 here

I don't know how the gameplay is, but after seeing that screenshots I have to say I'm impressed, it's a great job for a pirate game...
