these pictures are from a Yahoo Taiwan auction. forgive my ignorance but what shooter is that? was it released in 1995? or is that just a boot? writing is japanese? weird!!! http://tw.image.bid.yahoo.com/users/4/9/1/5/rpg-go-go-go-img450x600-1127138101_p_q____1-4.jpg http://tw.image.bid.yahoo.com/users/4/9/1/5/rpg-go-go-go-img450x600-1127138109_p_q____2-10.jpg http://tw.image.bid.yahoo.com/users/4/9/1/5/rpg-go-go-go-img450x600-1127138114_p_q____3-10.jpg
On the back is all in Japanese, oddly. The title Kanji is almost the same as Raiden Densetsu... almost. The last two characters make out something else; I don't know what, though.
I checked the name Super Chip but all you get is Hitachi power blades. So then I tried the cat' number but that didn't help either. I did fine a Taiwanese LED company called Super Chip but the game claims to be made in Japan plus the text on the back is in Japanese. The title on the front seems to be in Chinese though or that could just be because I can't read that last two Kanji. The first two however do say Thunder and lightning so it's English title is probably a correct translation of the Kanji. Yakumo EDIT - Just took a look at the Kanji for Raiden which is this - 雷電伝説 - as you can see like ccovell said, it does look similar to raiden but is not. maybe Gaijin Punch can read it for us.
Hello all, (because this is my first ever post) The first kanji after Raiden is actually a really, really rare version of Den, as in densetsu. So the reading is exactly the same as Raiden Densetsu as Yakumo said. Which is really odd... Maybe that version of the Den kanji is more widely used in China, maybe. I certainly hardly ever see that version of it used anywhere in Japan. (I thank my Kanji teacher now for making me learn all the bloody obscure readings of Kanji) Still no headway on what the game is though, I am registering weird pirate copy using a popular games name.
I think you could be right there Warakia about it just being a naff pirate game using the Raiden Densetsu title. I checked that odd Kanji and sure enough it is Den as you said. Must by actually written in Chinese which just happens to be the same as Japanese or almost the same. Yakumo
It's 2 games in one, the 2 bottom right shots on the back are definately Raiden. Beside the top 2 left shots have a player bar on the roight of the screens, its some double pack hack, dunno what the 1st game is tho? Of not tho, while bottom right is Raiden, the megadrive version has a right screen bar, absent in that pic, maybe version shown is form different system or just chopped.
So basically, it's a deceptive mish-mash of stolen text and graphics. Plug the cartrige in and play it; you'll discover it's a multicart with Flicky and Columns.
interesting. thank you people. I didn't notice I posted this in the wrong section. sorry about that. I'm not entirely sure those are 2 seperate games - the two images on the bottom right look to be cropped. and the game looks alot more like Aleste (8bit version?) than Raiden. love the hacks.
