    Hello Guys,

As there is a lot of new Nintendo patent that may or may not be related to the Nintendo NX, I prefer to start a new thread instead of adding this to the NX Rumors Book of Hell, as I think that it is not related to this system.

While looking for new Nintendo Patent, I have found this strange one.

    https://patentscope.wipo.int/search...Filter=&sortOption=&queryString=&tab=FullText

I don't read Japanese, but from what I understood, it is some kind of device that react to distortion. So it can mainly be used as a training device (like the wii board), potentially in the Nintendo Quality of Life project.

If anyone else can give more information on this patent, it will be nice :)

    Thanks for your help !

And please,Ô please, dear internet troller, don't even bother commenting with your lovely trolling post like "Nintendo sucks" or "This is the end of Nintendo", as this is not the goal of this thread.

    Hahaha, nice joke. :p

To be a bit out of topic : But to be honest, I trully thing that the Wii U name, especially the "U", is one of the reason the Wii U is not a success, as some people still think that the gamepad is just an accessorry that can be used with the Wii.

I hope that the communication about the NX will be better than the Wii U one. But this silent about the system scares me a bit.

Looks like a peripheral that would sync up with a mobile app, which apparently nintendo has been looking into.

I wasn't sure about the linked app, as my japanese , but this can be true. And it would make sense.

We know that Nintendo is working on a project called Quality of Life. And the fact that Nintendo is now present on the mobile app market, I can totally imagine some kind of hardware equipments that will connect to smart device, like training device or sleep checking devices.

My best guess from looking at the patent and the app is that this is a heart rate monitor vs your weight to determine the calories your burning. Its something built into many exercise machines now. Your have to grip two metal pads and it determines that information.

I thought they dropped the Quality of Life stuff as it was Iwata's pet project?

I have heard this as well. But I tought it was only postponed.

By after a quick look on google, it seems that the project is indeed cancelled http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/nintendo-sleep-sensor-cancelled/

    Thanks for the information !
