One of my friend i've lost sight of, once had a bootleg psx game that had an interesting feature... it had the chance to turn on, on startup, some action replay codes... my question is if it is possible to do the same by choosing the codes for other games and create a personal version of the game. thanks in advance, karsten
I remember bootleg psx games with the ability to enable cheat codes i think resident evil survivor had them. It should be possible since lots of psx bootlegs either displayed a cheat enable menu or a logo of the cracker group which cracked the game I don't know how it would be done but it could probably be done
I'm 99% positive that it can be done, i however...don't know how. perhaps you have the action replay iso and you make a mutiboot menu iso with it?
You could probably hack the action replay psx.exe so that when you start the game it runs something other than psx.exe. Thats if it was really action replay & not just a trainer that was made to look like action replay. smf
thanks for your answers so far! i would love to make a disc with such characteristics.. please share any info you can think of!
it was not action replay but more like a trainer type thing. i don't know if this will help but i found this info to do with playstation trainers. not sure if it is to do with ps1 or ps2 but i'll post it anyway [you will have to write a bootup file that reads the game to the Playstation but then injects code to the game coding, basically like a trainer for a PC game.]
It's probably just a trainer. Many 16bit games came with them in ROM format as did quite a few Dreamcast releases never saw a Saturn trained game mind you. Yakumo
oh i forgot to put up link well i found some info at http://fileforums.com/ there were some post about playstation trainers
