Today I got back in my apt only to notice my DL link 604 router isnt working as it should.

The first slot (slot #1) near the WAN port is always lighted up, and if no cable is putted in (even unconnected on the other side) the router wont respond to clients...
"Strange" I thought, so I firstrly popped the power off but it didnt work, then tried to do a reset but that didnt work too - and here I started to fear the worst..I hoped it could be a firmware's issue, but I fear its not...

As stated, the router works flawlessy if I plug in a unconnected cable in slot #1, either it wont respond in any way.

Anyone had the same trouble maybe?

Sounds like a failure... did you update the firmware recently, at all?

Contact D-Link and ask their advice.

Not at all. Will do this right away. Besides, it could possibly be my cable as well.

You can always test your cable with a multimeter - it should be a straight cable, so the pins wire straight through. There should be no short between any pins, and no crossover.
