Strange Sega Saturn controller

    I received this controller today. On the top there's a connector that's fully connected to the controller's chip on the inside. Does anyone have any idea what this pad was used for or if it's a type of proto?

    Personally I think it's just some hobbyists mod to connect another type of controller to his saturn.. but not sure off course.. looks interesting! ;)

    Exactly, it's going to be for Neo Geo controllers.

    Looks like this guy was a Neo freak then but didn't want to wait for Neo CDs to load or couldn't aford MVS carts :nod:

    it could be also a connector for the PC Game Port.

    You'd think he could have just gotten a converter from Lik Sang or something...

    Nah, PC port axes are analog. (Even the later digital gamepads would need to be brought up to CMOS level)

    i do this sort of thing for my new custom arcade sticks. except i put the PCB inside of a plastic housing. But yeah, it looks like it was a neo geo fan. :)

    Yes, certainly looks homebrew. Quite a neat job, though!

    Are you going to use it on a Neo Geo?
