So I bought an AES bundle that came with 2 controllers and 5 games. First think I noticed is that the AES that was sent to me was the Japanese model. Not a problem, from what I understand they are region free. 4 of the 5 games did not have cases and were the Japanese versions of the games. The only U.S. title I got was Sengoku and that came in the case, This game in particular the seller said that he brought it brand new. The case itself was all banged up and i was forced to use some tape to hold everything together, no problem though. I was checking out my games doing some measurements on the cases when I noticed that the case that was supposedly came with the game "Brand New" had Baseball Stars retail stickers on it. then i noticed that the Sengoku cart seemed to have an interesting sticker on it.

There is not one, Not two, But 3 stickers on there. At first i started thinking that i had a pirate cart, but after peeling back the first sticker i found that the 2nd sticker was for the japanese version of the same game.

Thats kinda weird. and then under that sticker was another U.S. version of Sengoku.

Anyway. I thought that some of you guys might find this interesting.

Almost all of the first generation titles have the double repackage sticker on the cartridges. SNK-USA received the japanese carts and slapped the english sticker right over the jap sticker. They were too lazy to remove the jap sticker when they did the repackaging. Check your Nam, Magician Lord, Baseball Stars, etc...

I'm glad you took those photos and made this thread because most people don't know about the double stickers. Most collectors don't know the details when it comes to repackaging for a localized market.

Sometimes errors would be be english insert and sticker, but japanesae manual.
Other times it'll be english insert and manual, and japanese sticker.

Since these were repackaged by hand there are a few errors or oversights by the workers doing the repackaging. I find it all a bit interesting.

Yeah. Now that I know why, I don't really have a problem with it. I would imagine whatever middleman who was given the task to sit there and package thousands of carts by hand would find it less time consuming to just slap a sticker over a sticker. And after a while it doesnt become as important to line the stickers up perfectly. Honestly it doesn't matter XD . So i took a look at my Magician Lord cart like you said, Sure enough there are 2 labels on it. ha ha. Im not peeling that one back though, I already know whats under there XD .
