I've been pondering this so I don't want to Ponder no more.

Are there any real advantages to having the Saturn Versions of the Alpha/Zero Series if I already have the Dreamcast Version of Aplha 3 and
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology on the PS2 ?

I'm under the impression the definitive version of Alpha 2 is the Saturn Version.

    But the others?

The Street Fighter collection version on the Saturn is the 'Best' on 32bit. The PS2 version is much better though.

Ive played them all and theres something about the PS2 that doesnt seen right, Im not sure if its the speed or the resolution or what.

The Zero 3 its definetly better on the Saturn over DC because the DC have some colision detection problems, because it use a slightly different resolution and Crapcom just streched the sprites.

Btw, I was playing the Vampire Chronicles on DC other day and the Graphics/Colors seemed much better on the Vapire Savior version for the Saturn too, even my friend that doesnt know much about videogames noticed it.

The PS2 version has enough cool extras to make it better than the Saturn ones, I especially like the Dramatic Battle mode.

Only real advantage Saturn version has is the exclusive gallery mode. To be honest anthology probably has the best port out of all, it was ported not emulated right? Also was it cause of the 640x480 VGA out that the resolution in the dc version of sfa 3 is off?

I guess the controllers used go a long way...

Dramatic battle mode was also on Dreamcast, and it was quite a blast there - Even more so because the dreamcast does have enough controller ports. The alpha 3 we got on Dreamcast was a sufficient port, but from what I know, it's better on Saturn somehow. Something about the animations.

Being that I've had Alpha 3 on PS1, Dreamcast and PS2, but never on Saturn (I don't own one yet), I'd say the PS2 should be the definitive version. But I can't tell you about the Saturn version. Just know that the Saturn pad is the definitive pad for fighting games.

Street Fighter 3 and Hyper Street Fighter 2 did look fantastic on Dreamcast, but those controllers were just... not as good as the 15th anniversary Street Fighter pads on the PS2. The PS2 versions are pretty much exactly the Dreamcast versions, though.

Controllers aren't an Issue for me on the Dreamcast, I play all my fighters with either a Saturn Pad or a PS2 Arcade stick using converters.

The only thing that keeps me from saying PS2 Alpha 3 is the best port overall is the lack of the amazing World Tour mode every other version had.

Oh, for SFZero 3, I like the PS 1 version the best. I know it lacked some animation frames, but it was so amazing on the PS1 vs. the previous 2D fighters on that console and it added all the extra stuff over the arcade. Amazing game. I bought it on import a week after the Japanese launch and still remember it fondly.

I have the Saturn version of Street Fighter Zero 2, and it's a pretty good game. I can't say whether it's a good port or not as I've never played the arcade version, but it looks good and plays well. I believe Yakumo reviewed all the Street Fighter games for the Saturn on Retro Core, and if I remember correctly his reviews were generally positive. I haven't seen it in a while.

Yeah he did them all at once. One of the few times I disagreed with him
" If you want arcade perfect street fighter play them on Sega Hardware"
