No idea. Never saw a Japanese version so maybe a European exclusive. Are you sure you don't mean Virtua Fighter Portrait Collection? Yakumo
I'm sure he did mean the Virtua Fighter CG Portrait Collection, which came packaged with VF Remix over here. This is little more than a condensed version of the standalone character discs released in Japan, only with (presumably) exclusive background music and redesigned menus. Unless you're getting the full package, I doubt this one's really going to be worth anything. On the other hand, why bother when you can find many - if not all - of the same images within a hidden bitmap folder in the PC version of VF2, not to mention spread across the 'net? Satakore has many of the best pictures available, and even then much of the content is strictly for hardcore fans only! I'm personally not too fussed about having dozens of mid-'90s quality renders in high resolution with a few ambient sound effects running in the background, especially as I prefer to see the VF cast moving around...
The PAL version came with VF Remix as Anthaemia already said. It is worth next to nothing, I still have a crappy conditioned one somewhere in a drawer. @Yakumo There was a demo in Japan with the same contents as the European version that came with VF remix: http://www.satakore.com/sega-saturn-demo,,VFCG-001,,Virtua-Fighter-CG-Portrait-Collection-JPN.html I own it sealed, but even though it is much rarer than the European disc, it's not worth that much either. About 1500yen would be my guess for a new one.
I've got that one as well although it never came with Virtua Fighter Remix as far as I know. You hand to send off for it from Sega and it cost a lot more than 1500 yen. This has been going for quite a bit recently. Even more rare though is the Dural stand alone CG Disc. Another one that was never on sale in stores and only 50'000 copies made unlike the other discs that has 100's of thousands of copies made. Yakumo
Only the PAL version was included w/VFRemix. The jpn version was published seperately as you said: I'm still on the hunt for this one! This and Java Tea VF Kids AND the different spine cards version of VF Remix - then I'm gonna have the full Saturn VF set. But even the Dural disc is not worth that much... or what do you think? I remember seeing it on yahoo constantly for 2000yen BIN.
I think I paid about 2500 yen for mine but I have seen them go for more. Recently Saturn and Mega CD stuff is climbing in price. The different VF Remix is easy and very cheap (Under 400 yen) to find in the likes of Hard Off. Keep an eye open on Yahoo too. Yakumo
WTF? Street Fighter? I've been clicking on this thread about 10 times now and always read it as "virtua fighter c.g. portrait collection" just untill your last post saying it was Street Fighter. Weird how easy humans adapt certain things as given if they just read it often enough. I'd never have thought there could stand something else but Street Fighter. But anyway, there is no C.G. portrait collection just as Yakumo said. Capcom never created 3D-chars untill EX2+ and those were not CG-animated.
If he really does mean STREET Fighter CG Portrait Collection then the only thing I can think of would be a bonus disc of artwork that may have come with one of Capcom's games, perhaps Street Fighter Collection? However, I've only known this to come on two discs, and both of those contained just games. Maybe if he could provide a picture of the case or disc, as I've never heard of anything like this before - and yes, Capcom didn't really do CG artwork until SFEX2. This may very well have been a professional-looking bootleg of the Alpha series character artwork, but I'm more convinced it was just the Virtua Fighter disc as suggested earlier.
you guys are right i guess. i think i should take less drugs in the future and always carry a camera with me.
Now thats an interesting game ie street fighter! I've never played it but its a fun game to watch other people play. :icon_bigg
I'm amazed that there's someone in the world who hasn't played a Street Fighter game of one kind or another.
