Whilst the game itself was never going to reverse the fortunes of the Atari Lynx.. After talking to multiple sources,it can now be confirmed the Lynx version was finished, delivered to Atari who then gave the coder the go ahead to start work on a version for the Panther console, before pulling plug on Panther itself shortly after. The Lynx version had map data from the Amiga version (which was heavily played to build Lynx version), music converted from ST version and made easier than ST/AMIGA versions. Atari very supportive to coder..gave Lynx test code and documentation, coder never worked on any other Lynx titles. It's all speculation and conjecture as to why it was never released, declining Lynx market, cost of cart manufacture, Atari canning projects like Panther etc. Coder has no source code as he never kept back ups, nor did Tiertex..EPROM's simply thrown in drawer and forgotten about.. But it's another piece of the Atari puzzle found and we get further idea of titles Atari wanted on Panther. Side Note:It does make me chuckle Atari UK were saying they hoped to sell Panther to existing ST owners, but wanted conversions of things like Shadow Of The Beast (out on Lynx as well as ST) and now Strider II (Out on ST, Lynx version so close to released)..Panther would of needed Killer Apps in big numbers, not titles out on ST, Amiga, PC Engine Genesis etc as SOTB were.
Don't want to contradict you but, with the exception of Guido Henkel's The Crypt and a recently found Breakout game for the Panther that was posted on Jaguar Sector III, there were no games planned for it. Heck, even Leonard Tramiel commented that there were no software planned with the exception of those 2. Even various old Atari employees on the group have commentated that Cybermorph, Trevor McFur & Raiden WERE NEVER programmed for the Panther. All of them were being developed for the Jaguar from the moment Atari killed the Panther. Now, since you're talking about the Lynx, in one of the Retro Gamer magazine issues where it was a feature about Imagitec Design's games, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure was mentioned for the Lynx. Now that i think about it, i should do a Unreleased Atari Lynx games thread here...
Hey i didn't came to fight you, nor to stalk you. Yes i do know Ki but he's not the only one who has helped me in finding stuff about the unreleased Jag stuff. The real reason why i was banned from AA is that i caught Reboot bullying my friend for his work and for promoting piracy by selling carts of the ST ports he has done with Al, in fact i dropped from W1G to aliviate my friend's stressful and problematic life that he already has from the stupid people that attacked him for his game (i still work with him but not anything related to games anymore). You said that i was the one who altered the Wiki list of Jaguar games, yet with your username Martin Illia you altered the original list and everybody blamed me for "unrealistic" listing of games and for deleting Reboot's titles (based on scans that i've found on the net, you already have problems with 2 people and me there (one for posting a deletion proposal to his, one for blocking a dude and my Super Burnout article)...If U64 don't want to post my comments well then OK that's fine, i'm not going to be mad at them. Also i don't have any agenda against you. I needed to clarify this 'cause i didn't came here to cause problems, i'm not also wanting to have problems with the ASSEMbler team for your post because the people from the various FB groups that i'm in know that i'm a friendly dude. With that said, i'll leave you alone. I only posted here due to the mentioning of the Panther. Jesus, this is just a gaming forum and i'm not trying to proclaim myself as a Jag expert... (Update: since i've been on the eyes of a guy who is very well known for his ST ports and he's watching this thread, keep this in mind: i'm expanding and restoring the wiki article about the list of Jag games that LD/Martin Illia altered in the first place. If you have spies following me and spreading lies about me, i don't care! It doesn't affect me at all and i'm not getting mad about it but people already know me for who i am outside of the forums, not the lies that you're spreading about me + the other guys you and your team still have a vendetta against [after all, your team illegaly copyright striked 10p6's YT channel for selling his copy of Another World and Ki for his 9 Lives Jag CD release that he did for charity, not to mention the promoting of pirating games such as BattleSphere just because you want to rub salt against 4play. They're not lies, you can talk to the people behind the stuff i mentioned and you'll see that what i'm saying it's true]. You and your team are not gods of every forum just because your ST ports have bringed you "success" so keep that in mind . This will be the last time i'll say anything negative here because i have enough already what it is happening to my home Venezuela, i promise).
I'm not playing the victim here where it comes to the problem i had with Reboot on AA. I'm still working with Jeff but not anymore in the games department. The only mistake Ki did with that release was not putting a disclaimer saying "footage shown here are from different sources and belongs to their respective owners" That's all. Me and various of my friends wants Piko to succed with original games done from the ground up, not Amiga/ST hybrids (don't take this as a destructive critisism Piko if you're reading this). With this said, i'll leave you alone with your posts and i'll do my own posts, my researchs comes from surfing old magazines, old devs. interview & comments + the ones i've done both on JSIII with the help of many people besides Ki and on my own and the various press releases and GEnie chats from various fans who had experience with the system since the 90s. Since this is Strider II here we're talking about i'll say this: i do hope Strider II does appear in some form, i don't think it's lost at all for the Lynx.
