Yes, I hate Sony so much, that's why the PS1 is home to my second favorite game of all time. Pay attention to the words I write as a whole, not everything should be taken as literal.

I was just poking fun at how often you bring up Sony when it usually doesn't pertain to the discussion (in this case, it does), but I still find it funny that almost every post I see of yours has a Sony Playstation praise in it, usually while denigrating another console/platform, & how you say you hate when PC users do this same thing.

So relax, your beloved Playstation is a fine piece of hardware. I wouldn't dare bash it =]

^ This was so true until the current generation (X1, PS4). I just saw a picture today of someone who had to download an update for his CONTROLLER in order to play Titanfall... lol. Somebody else just wanted to play some game and it would just not boot anymore unless he'd download a 2.7GB patch. Consolegaming these days has pretty much aligned with PC-gaming in terms of patches/updates.

    @topic
I never understood this PC vs. console shit. Is this some poor people talk?? Somebody can't afford both so they have to fight the other??? I'm sure that if most people really, REALLY wanted to, they could afford all platforms and enjoy everything. We're just talking consumer electronics here, not sportscars. So why all the bitching? What do I gain by defending some current consumer retail product? Nothing.

I don't like PC-gaming for reasons of comfort (drivers/downloads/frequent upgrades), and I also do not like to sit at a desk when I play my games. But that being said, I gain nothing in saying that this makes consoles *totally* better... what am I, five years old? My toy car is better than your toy car cuz mine's got the space boosters? Oh boy.

I'm getting the feeling that guy thinks everyone who has ever owned a non Sony piece of hardware is a "sony hater".

Yeah, probably not everyone but still most adults with a normal income I'd say - a complete set of consoles is only around $1200, and most people already have a TV. $1200 can be saved with most basic jobs in a matter of one year or shorter.

I wouldn't blame the economy at all. It's been good, bad, good, bad over the past 25 years, but fanboyism was always there. If there had been social envy involved, I'm sure there would've been less fanboy-related hatred against Gamecube/Xbox in the glorious years between the dotcom and the 2008 crisis.

Arguing over which console is better is just childish behavior and a waste of time. Similarly wasteful as arguing about why people argue about it, which is what I do right now. You can say that game A is better for factors X, Y and Z, or, similarly, that the hardware of platform A is better. But fanboys are so irrational and dumbfounded when you ask them for their actual reasons, it's like arguing with a creationist.

They could just as well go out there and say that railway track A is better than railway track B because they like the red trains more, which just happen to run on track A for the time being. Doesn't matter what the tracks are made of or who paints the trains, no, they like the TRACK better because it has RED TRAINS. This is how stupid it is.

Fanboy always been around before we were born. They not going away anytime soon.

let put this way, PC is better than console but it is shit at the same time. You don't get the same relaxing feeling or amount of fun and inviting friends to play like you do on console. which you can't do that on PC, atlease that is my experience of it.

Now economy may affect some people but people can afford alot of things. You can build your own high end PC gaming fairly cheap.

Sadly I agreed with you about console becoming more alike PC. Look at Unreal tournament 3 on PS3. You can use mouse and keyboard also you can do offical mods aswell. I don't mine that but I hope in the futures that console always stays as console and I don't want to see console having hardware upgrade like the bullshit PC does.

maybe something like this playstation 6 will have three different models with different prices

Low end console - mid range console -high end console.

I got the feeling this may happen one day.

Technically it is possible to do that. Most PCs can be easily connected to a TV, and most new games support controller input - and even Steam will allow you to control the entire interface with just a controller, so there's no need for a mouse or keyboard. Personally, I would probably never set up a PC solely for that purpose, but in my previous apartment, I had an HDMI cable running from my desktop to my TV, and I'd often play emulators and stuff on the TV with my 360 controller. Then again, I don't mind playing games in front of a computer monitor.

Same here, i got heavy into PC around 03. I had all the nintendo consoles and whatever play station was out for gran turismo but i was 80% PC.

The challenge is gone now and PC's are mostly appliances. I loved tinkering, upgrading, and daydreaming about new hardware. Now i have this 200$ 8 core CPU i bought last year (it will be viable for another 4 years) and a 3 year old video card and i can pretty much play anything at 1080p. I have 300 steam games i bough over the past 8 years sitting, steam is not even installed. Graphics have leveled off, steams UI is horribly depressing and PC's in general are soulless.

Long story short, it was fun watching the tech progress but ive come back home. I doubt ill ever leave again. Im having such a nice time with my WiiU and a PS3 for GT.

    ^What GPU is that?

I have a small, form-factor HTPC I built that's under my TV in the living room. It's no bigger than current consoles, so it's easy to move around.
Steam Big Picture is easy to use just 360 controller. Pretty much every game that you'd want to play with a controller, can be; it's not 2005 anymore.
Also, XBMC has frontends that are customizable and look amazing. They're great for emulators, movies and music.

My main PC is beyond what most people would ever need or experience, as I need it for work, so I don't spare expense when I upgrade, but I do enjoy playing games that can take advantage of a multi-monitor setup. The great part about PC gaming now, is that there are a plethora of games, like platformers and really good indie titiles, that would only appear on console 5-10 years ago, like Ikaruga and Metal Slug (and now you have all these FPS games on consoles). And those are the types of games that appeal to me the most, even though I have a $3,000 machine, I usually play 2.5D games (stuff like Guacamelee) instead of AAA titles like Dark Souls II.

I like PC gaming and console gaming. You don't have to give up on one to have the other.
There's no Flight Simulator for consoles, or Zelda for PCs.
The sad thing is how most pc gaming defenders use steam.
I never used and never will. All this "pay for temporary license" thing is stupid, imo. The future is something like Office 365 for any content (game, music, movie) and people are supporting that. I hope steam/netflix all go bankrupt.
You guys can continue the rant...

I'am aware of those things too as you mention, I did use the wired XBOX 360 controller for playing Far Cry 3 on PC . I use monitor for PS3,PS2 XBOX360 and PC. That about it really. I don't take PC gaming too serious to be honest, reason I have a PC gaming is because I use it exclusively for Project Car Beta which I have been testing it for two years now. As soon when Project Cars released this November then I can finally get rid my PC gaming by that time then.

True, building your own PC was fun and easy as well. I like how you can control the CPU fan and GPU fan with nvidia program settings. Unfortunately PC gaming is not my thing and PC fanboys are the wrost one to deal with.

PC's are the best system for gaming, on all times. If I want to play modern games, I can get them on Steam for a fraction of what I would pay for them in consoles. If I want to play a, for example, Mega CD or Playstation game, I just have to pop it on my DVD drive and I just play. You can play millions of games, with a single controller. And all on the same system, with just two wires (power and HDMI to the TV).

Is it a coincidence that the most subscribed to person on YouTube is a PC gamer?

I'm talking about PewDiePie btw. It wouldn't surprise me that people like him are partially responsible for driving the success of PC gaming, especially considering his videos reach 26,000,000+ people's inboxes a day. His videos are mostly geared towards the PC platform so it must have provided some sort of promotional benefit for software developers.
