I cloned my original (stock soft modded) HD with CHIMP, all went well.

Now when I boot up with the new 80GB HD installed, I do not see any more space? My F: also says "0" as in Zero.

Is this just a matter of setting up the F: partition? if so, how do I accomplish this?

    thanks.

    UPDATE

I found a function in CHIMP that said it fould allocate the remainder of space on the disk to F:

I ran this function the restarted the XBOX...

The Xbox is just stuck on the loading screen (big xbox logo) does not go any further (eg to dashboard or error screen)

it is a 80 gig HD....should the 1st boot after enabling F: take a ling time (been a hour)

Sounds like something's gone wrong, shouldn't take any longer to boot when enabling/preparing a partition.

Maybe you should run the clone again and then format/prepare the partition with either Auto Installer Deluxe (AID), XBPartitioner, or another boot disc like Slayers.

Don't forget to lock the slave drive and then change the jumper to master.

    Sounds like a plan Banjo

I am doing a fresh clone as we speak.

Last time I locked the HD to the motherboard and jumped it to master... all good there.

I take it AID is a program that runs on the XBOX? or is it a program I run on my PC and manipulate my XBOX via FireFTP (or other FTP prog) ?

Sorry for all the questons... I am TRYING not to be a super noob, but I have been out of the XBOX modding scene for many years....glad to be back tho!

Alright, I have been at this all day.... no results :(

I have no problem cloning a HD... done it on 2 different HDs

    I checked evox.ini and F drive = yes (F: is enabled)

problem is the size of F shows "0" (Zero)

whenever I try to partition with CHIMP... the HDs brick and will not boot any more.

I downloaded AID (Auto Installer Deluxe) and burnt it to a DVD-R, but my Xbox wont read it :(

Can someone please tell me what I need to to to format my F: to use the remaining space on the HD ?

I am so close to being able to load up all my programs and games.....but no joy :(

Is there a program that I can partition my HD (EvoX dash) via FTP or some other means from my PC hooked up via network cables and router?

    Thanks all.

Sorry I can't help, but just a heads up for clarification

    HD = High Definition

    HDD = Hard Drive

Boot with aid, go to advanced tools, xbpartioner, what does it list for partitions and their sizes on the 80gb?

You could try Xbox Partitioner, FTP that over to your Apps folder, run it and it should be able to sort out your unused space.

You should be able to setup your Hard Disk through AID after being softmodded. If not you can use XBOXHDM if you have a PC with IDE MASTER.

Is the DVD-ROM drive working? If it's not reading the disc... it should in a softmod.

    Try this:
Boot AID, select: Format/Prepare HDD, and select Format Large HDD. See if that helps you bud.

Just a little advice don't try to upgrade your dashboard until you have more experience. Btw Hex1gon I am curious to your thoughts on xbmc4xbox 3.3.3. I recently finished up my 4th (I sold my previous 3)xbox thanks to alot of the information posted here and on your youtube. I don't know if its been said hex1gon ,but after 2008 alot of the xbox forums became defunct and info was scattered and I appreciate you for compiling the xbox modding info.

Glad the information I and others have compiled is useful. I found that sites started going offline, and was finding it hard to find information with XBOX 360 and now XBOX ONE information appearing in searches. More mod videos will appear soon it's whenever I can afford parts and systems...

My thoughts on XBMC4xbox is mixed. I personally don't like the dash and use of it as a main dash I think is a bit dangerous. It's a stable dash, but I don't think it has the best features like UnleashX has. If I wanted to use XBMC4xbox I'd use it as a application not a dashboard. We all have our preferences though.

I'm doing the opposite ,right now t I'm running xbmc 3.3.3 as my main dash with evox set as an app(unleash x kept having problems with ftp). My current specs are v1.0 mobo with samsung dvd drive ,750gb ide hdd, upgraded ide cables, 12v fan mod, tsop xecuter 2.6 bios and mounted a female usb port on the back of the xbox(it looks factory I did such a good job). I chose not to go with a 2tb hdd in my xbox because of the slowdowns in the initial boot and possible ftp problems.

Problems? I never had problems with FTP. Only if it was set to STATIC.

I have XBMC as my main dash and UnleashX as an app, I can also boot to the stock dash through UnleashX. I like it a lot but that's just me, YMMV.

I have been never been able to get firezilla to work with any of my xboxes since 2007. I've always had to use flashfxp.
