Hi, as the title says, I have managed to dump the contents of one of my N64 memory cards to my laptop under Linux. I used a DexDrive to read the memory card, and ran the whole thing under Wine. It worked great the first time I tried it.

Here's the notes I made on the process:
    1. Setup serial port:sudo chmod a+rw /dev/ttyS0
    2. In the .wine/dosdevices directory: ln -s /dev/ttyS0 com1
    3. Add setup.exe (DexDrive installer) to winecfg as a Windows 98 application
    4. Install DexPlorer software: wine setup.exe
    5. Add DexPlorer.exe to winecfg as Win 98 (Win95 or WinNT 4.0 should also work)
    6. Run the software: wine DexPlorer.exe

Haven't tried restoring or any of the other operations on the DexPlorer software yet. Plan to in the future- if anyone else tries it, please tell me how it went.

Advantage- probably not if there's no issues on modern Windows.
The reason I did it was pretty simple- mostly to see if I could. I was getting annoyed at trying to get my main project to work, and with that failing, I decided to quickly try out the DexDrive which I had on hand. I really didn't expect it to work, and so was quite surprised when it did work.
If you've used the DexDrive on a modern system, do you have a native serial port, or are you using a USB to Serial?

I've used my DexDrive just fine with the original software on XP, however I've not yet tried it with Windows 7 x64.

Someone could easily write a client for such a matter.

    Hello:

Have you tried this driver made in Linux and it works for you?

I do not know the commands to use, I think it works under delinux shell and that's it. I do not know if it has a graphical environment.
