    Guys,

Where do you reckon the seller has found these?

I thought the GBL was considered one of the more difficult to find GB systems, especially in new condition (my first, scratched up gold one cost me around £45 back in the summer!) and new boxed silver/gold were going for well over £100 at that time.

This guy comes along (in Brookly, of all places, not Japan!) and seems to have a shit-load! He has single handedly destroyed the used unboxed market as they are now selling for around £20!

I bought one of each from him that arrived yesterday, and they are the real deal (pity he didn't declare as gift, so I had to pay VAT on them!)

The other odd thing is his pricing, he originally had both listed at $89.99, I checked his feedback and saw he had let one go for $69.99, so I best offered him and he accepted, he has since gone as low as $55 on them, but now he has upped the price to $129.99 for the silver while the gold remains at $89.99 (although you can still see what he has accepted in his feedback!)

    Any thoughts...?

If you look in the second auction he's sold a few at $60 each in his history.

    This.

Especially not the silver and gold.

They were just released in japan only. I see at least 10 every time I search for one on eBay.

    I've been watching these too.

Strange thing is, there appear to be two big sellers, one in Japan and one in Brooklyn. Different usernames, but the SAME PICTURES. Now, one could have stolen images from the other, I suppose.

I'm going to order a gold one from the Brooklyn seller here in a little while. I've always wanted a GB Light. They used to be like $200 brand new.

Maybe not exactly rare, but they were never cheap and common. The limited GB Lights are really hard to find, but so were the GBL's until not too long ago (at least in like-new condition).

I still really want both Astro Boy GB's, but I don't want to lay down $200 each for them when I could have a bunch of DS Download Station shit for that money.

this means, that the original batteries went already flat and even worse, they leaked. so he replaced 'em.

I have a new GB Light Gold my self and experienced the same problem. it's a common problem of any NEW GB kits.

yo watch. he opened the case for making pics = not NEW anymore ;) also the box doesn't look so minty anymore.

Heh, Didn't even know the GBL existed?! When were they released in japan? Sometime before the SP?

GB Lights are kind of neat, but I probably would not shell out at those prices. Call me a practical person, but there's just too many alternatives that can do a better job for the money. By better job, I mean gaming, though I am terribly aware that its more about collecting than playing.

Never understood why everyone thinks OMG Rare, they are dead easy to get at the best of times & even the limited editions are pretty easy too with only one exception.

The clear yellow toys r us japan limited edition i have only ever seen it 3 times in the past 8 years & all times it was unboxed. Now that one is entitled to be classes as rare.

I've seen it on eBay 3 times in the past year. All sold for around £80.

The yellow Pokemon GBL is a pretty rare article, more so than either of the two Astro Boy versions.

I just ordered a gold unit, new, from that guy on eBay. We'll see how it looks when it gets here. I got it for $80 shipped, so I'm pretty happy with that.
