Suggestions for Akihabara/Anybody wanna go to Akihabara?

Hi all. I tried to post this topic an hour or so ago, but looks like I screwed up somewhere along the line, as I'm not seeing it, so I'm re-posting here.

Anyway, even though I've lived in Japan for several years now, I've only been down to Akihabara a couple of times, so it's still quite new and "fresh" to me. I was thinking about going down there next Saturday (Feb. 8), and was wondering a) if you could give me any recommendations for places to check out/things to do; and, b) if anybody nearby wants to come with me (a long shot, I suppose, but as long as I'm here...).

As I mentioned on my self-introduction post I put up a little while ago in the relevant category, I've recently become interested in Japanese retro computer games, so I'd really like to do/see things related to that. In particular, I would love to check out a brick-and-mortar store selling old computers and related software. I don't plan on buying anything, but it would be cool to see the actual machines and get an idea of prices and availability should I ever want to start my own collection. Of course, information on other "Akihabara-esque" places/activities is very welcome. Needless to say, I could look up this information on the internet, but I'm interested in your recommendations, especially for things a bit off the beaten trail. And again, if anyone wants to hang out with a random (30-something American male) stranger in Akihabara, I'd be happy to have the company.

Would love to go with ya man, but I'm a million miles away. But based on what I've read of the place, I think you'll have no trouble finding stores to keep you plenty entertained.
