Sorry. That was a bad joke. lol. I did it again! Yeah they do look for people who are happy in front of the customers. Quite annoying actually that they look for this key interest. It is annoying now, because that's the second interview I have had with them. 2 hours per interview, 4 hours total wasted. They made us sit on these hard stools for the entire 2 hours while the woman blabbed on about how wonderful Apple is, and how everyone is so happy all the time. Then they played a few videos, same as before... Quite brainwashing to be honest and quite, QUITE frustrating. The guy I was mentioning said that he went for an interview in JB-HiFi, and they asked him what does ISP abbreviate for. He said he did not know, which is perfectly fine. However, my bet is they hired him.
You dont need to know anything to work in retail. What you know doesnt sell shit, its how approachable you seem (therefore looking happy is required). Its not complicated. I did say it was a shitty retail job right at the start and its not what you would want to be doing.
Retail don't want SMART people, at all. You know why? Cause smart people often direct customers in the right direction. Anyhow, retail is a stupid job to get into. As you see many EB stores around melbourne have women working there, and well they're all attractive (that I've seen), most of them hardly knew there was an XBOX before the XBOX 360. So there you have it. Maybe a stupid point, but I think you get where I'm getting at. Bad_Ad84 is right, you have to appear and sound over happy. Then again like above, not all people I see in retail even look like they want to be there, this just irates me.
Correct. If you apply for any jobs in retail, Get your hair cut smart, get clean shaven and try cleaning up any acne, also practise smiling.
