I'm typically not a big fan of 3rd party batteries as their actual capacity rarely match what was advertised. But since SONY has stop producing replacement batteries for a while now, has anyone purchased any decent 3rd party batteries that are worth buying for both the 1st and 2nd generation system (FAT and SLIM)? I find the reviews on Amazon are a mixed bag. I'm curious to find out what everyone's opinion are here. I'm aware there are some supposedly new old stock SONY batteries on eBay but I have doubt they are genuine. Even if they are, who knows whether the sellers are recharging their batteries over the years to ensure the cells are staying alive.
I got a Pisen battery for my PSP-1006. It was the only compatible battery that I bought, which did not claim to have a higher capacity than the original. Although I did not manage to use it much (due to my PSPs failing) I found it performing comparably to the 1800mAh official battery. However, I never got to use a genuine battery that was brand new. So your expectations may be actually higher.
From DealExtreme? At this point my bar is pretty low, just looking for an option that is not a total dud.
No, I picked it up at a local store, maybe in 2014. But because Pisen is its own brand, I think it would be pretty hard to end up with something different, unless the brand just was never a good one.
