So I need a power cord for a Car Marty and can't seem to find a suitable replacement. I got one of those multi plug one's that can be found at Radioshack but I believe there is some differences as the Marty attempts to boot but just keeps rebooting. The Marty calls for
    12v +*-

And the adapter I have seems to be any volt but reads this way

    -*+

Just would like to get a proper cord as it worked in the car it was pulled from.

    is it - *) + or - (* +
the radioshack one is switchable either way

Line up the word tip on plug with symbol corrisponding to the one next to the dot on diagram
(Radioshack box explains it better than i am here also)

I tried both ways. One I get a response but it just turns off and on. The other no go, nothing at all.

All the fun of Marty with a built in GPS in a cute little compact form.

I got it for $45 shipped. Just no home kit so till I find one I have to use the car kit and get Video and Mono sound. Kinda ghetto but cheap and it worked once pulled fro the car so as long as I can finally enjoy some 32-bit Splatterhouse and Tatsujun 2

I am having a heck of a time finding a PSU but do you have any guide to make that cable? I am a novice when it comes to such affairs but I am getting better little by little. I am thinking of selling it and just getting a Marty 2. It is around $300 shipped. Not to bad but EMS sucks. Way to much money.

Thanks actually seems like a fairly straight forward guide even I can fuss up. Found a PSU but they want $75 for it. Just going to set this off to the side till the right moment arrives and I stumble upon one. Till then I just bought a boxed Marty 2.

Well I made the plug and switching should be no problem. I won't have to fuss with it as I bought a Marty 2 for the floppy drive and such. Thanks for the info, I'll fuss with it in a few once I get some more cash as that FM Towns put me in the hole.
