Well, there's no two ways about it -- it's summer, and it's damn hot. While temperatures are yet to hit 40 C (probably in the mid 30's) the humidity here is like 200%. I cycle to work daily, and jog in the park on the weekends. It's like running underwater.

    What about your area?

:smt043 That's one thing I'm not missing about Japan at the moment. Right now it's raining as alway in the UK. My wife was saying about two weeks ago in Shimonoseki it was 38 C. I sure hope that she's remembered to put those moisture absorbing packs in the PC room and in the games cupboard. Don't want everything going all wrinkly from the humidity.

What does 38C translate to Farenheit??

Here in Sunny Florida. It's in the mid 90s F for most of the day with 60-80% humidity, then heavy rains in the late afternoon to cool things down.

    Well

It looks like if I can get £1000 together any time soon I am off to Brazil for 9 months of capoeira - probably in September :D

If I can scrape together the cash I should be able to enjoy the summer in the UK, then whilst you lot are suffering in the winter I will be enjoying the summer in Brazil, and then I will return before it gets cold in Brazil in time for more english summer in 2005 :smt040

    now .... where to find £1000 ....

  10. Well, the past few days it hasn't been too bad here - mainly between 85 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit (something like ~30C) but a few weeks ago it was easily 95 and above into the 100s. I'm just hoping that it doesn't kick up again in the coming weeks.

Right now it is about 10 in the morning and a VERY comfortable 65-ish outside - I've got all of my windows open. :smt040

It is between 90-100 F here, but it has been raining every day :smt011 We have been getting more rain than we usually get, so it is extremely difficult to find time to mow my yard. :smt009

38C is somewhere around upper 90's. I think 100 Fahrenheit is 41... might want to find an online calculator. I gotta get back into the Fahrenheit thing.

While it's just steamy as balls here, I LOVE the summer in this city. Cycling in heat is easier than in cold, it doesn't rain too much, the girls wear MUCH less clothing, and people just seem to be having a much better time.

Once the summer is over, I'm heading off to Hawaii indefinitely, so for the meantime, I have done my last winter!

  16. Low 90s F with 90% humidity, high chance of afternoon thunderstorms, every day until September. That's Florida weather :p

Here in northern California, practically on the water, it's sunny and cool as always. It's in the 60s-80 F, w/ practically no humidity. In Oakland, the "hood" up here, its slightly hotter :)

  18. For anyone confused about the different temperature scales in use in this topic, I present a general conversion scale:

    80 Fahrenheit = 26.666666666666664 Celcius = 299.81666399999994 Kelvin = 507.67 Rankine

    90 Fahrenheit = 32.22222222222222 Celcius = 305.372219 Kelvin = 517.67 Rankine

    100 Fahrenheit = 37.77777777777778 Celcius = 310.927774 Kelvin = 527.6700000000001 Rankine

I think that covers it. I'm not sure how the hell to do Reaumur temperature scale, so four had damn well better be good enough for all of you! :smt017

Where I'm at it was a blistering 64 degrees Fahrenheit though it will be in the 90's this weekend.
