Supaboy 60/50Hz (NTSC to PAL) switch? I found the following website (in French) where someone appears to have figured out how to Mod a Supaboy with a 50/60Hz PAL/NTSC switch in order to accommodate many PAL games that won't run properly. Has anyone attempted this Mod and, if so, can you offer any pointers to clarify the information on the French site? According to the thread it appears the switch worked but the screen was off by 5 lines. In a later post the poster seems to indicate he was able to correct the issue but the picture/info on how to do it appears to be missing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. http://translate.google.com/transla...1820-switch50-60hz-sur-la-supaboy&prev=search From French Website (Translated) Hi all here I have found as a large Supaboy how the console switched to PAL 50Hz.and works well. material: -3 Files -a switch small in size if possible on / gnd / on -Iron Welded tin + -nappe desoldering braid / -l'écran Will find shifted down and it will have 5 lines of horizontal pixel less. / + Walk in color, Starwing walking and 95% of the games going pal this low screen history Gave me how to do better ... (Missing Picture here)
I'll try to do a better translation: "Hi everyone! Ok so I found myself how switch the Supaboy in PAL50Hz. And it works fine. What you need: - 3 wires - one small switch if possible on/ground/on - an iron solder and tin - desoldering braid /- The screen will be offset to the bottom and there'll be loss of a 5px horizontal line /+ works with colors, Starwing (european version of Starfox) works and 95% of PAL games are wokring.
Thank you! That definitely helps. The part where he states the screen will be offset to the bottom with a loss of 5 horizontal lines appears to have been resolved in the very next post in the thread but the picture is missing. Has anyone ever successfully completed this mod and have any pictures/part #'s (details)? Curious where they put the switch etc. I'm a newbie when it comes to modding/soldering and I'm pretty much at the monkey see monkey do stage.
Actually on the following post with the missing image he's saying that this offset is pissing him off 'cause he cannot get rid of it.
LoL. Thanks! That's a bummer! I guess this mod still has to be figured out or maybe isn't possible without the offset problem. I don't think the mod is worthwhile if you end up playing a game with the screen shifted. Then again, I don't know if it affects gameplay because I've never seen the mod in action. Maybe someone who cares/knows enough will come along and figure it out.
