    Wow neato! :prayer:

Now for the obvious question...Where did you get it?

Oh, and I recommend that you add a watermark going straight across the pictures, because somehow I see somebody cropping out that "AWS" really easily.

Yeah, for a console collector this is very cool :-D

I bought it from some guy on another forum.

I really don't care. Personally, I think putting in a watermark would ruin the pics. I just ask that they cite me.

Do you have any games? The system is actually much closer to a Sega CD technically than a SNES.

    Hot blooded!

Pretty interesting, in picture five you can see the single phase power converter sitting on a heatsink bedding.

    Re: Hot blooded!

The things on the heatsink are voltage regulators...

    Not a contender

Not really a contender, it had only something like eight games all first-party titles, supposedly games looked a cross between a FC/NES and a MD/SG.

    Terminolorgy a-go-go!

You have the same pair of components on your motherboard in a two or three phase array and it's called a power converter, it's the same thing, a switching voltage regulator.

It is a very obscure system that was made and released only in Taiwan. There are around 20 games for it. It is a 16 bit system that is actually more powerful than the Gennesis and SNES. Other than that, I can't tell you much else.

If I do get the games, I will let you know about them. I just hope everything works out :)

It would be really cool IMO to get it emulated and or cloned since it appears to use only off the shelf parts. A Super A'Can multicart or "development cartridge" would be pretty convenient too due to the obscurity. If I ever get one, I'll be sure to try to RE some of the functions/clone it (and dump the games.)

Heres my take on Mark: I've done business with Mark Cheung way he even put up that page, it might have been my demand that made him decide to open up a foreigner catering "webshop" since I started bugging him on eBay 3 years ago. With that said, I'm biased.

I should just get it out: he's not that great...

Everything of his is overpriced. He himself gets merch from his "partner" who in actuality is ANOTHER YHK seller. When you buy something from him, you're paying twice the markup and whatever kind of bonus he can make from your ignorance. The reason why he prodominately does business with the UK because he can get a killing from the exchange rate plus he knows he can sell a HK$50 for 50 GBP! He also does some shady practices such as falsely labeling condition and downplaying flaws and claiming ignorance.
To me, when someone has 10 eBay accounts, that means something. He obviously just wants to make as much money possible off ignorant foreigners, as fast as possible, and with the least amount of work. This in the end screws the (intelligent) customer.

Trivia: his "partner" is (was) Robert Webb's source for backup units.

These are simply my experiences. I had given up using him late last year to source me things due to the many letdowns. I might try him again sometime though.

Anyways, back to A'Can, Mark was the first to advertise it. He made like $700 off one, selling one & 5 games to some guy. I was offered it at the original sale but I couldn't compete obviously. IIRC, it was me who posted Mark's site at the original A'Can thread on the previous board...

BTW, this is why every week he sells off a Famicom & FDS with a few dozen broken FDS disks for 100GBP. This stuff is literally worth less than a bowl of tiger penis soup in China (USD$15.)

I don't think Mark should be the authority on anything.
