    If you can follow the title you can probably guess the rest, I'm just after advice on the cable I'd need as I'm sure someone here will already be well versed on the topic.

    I've got a PVM 2730QM with a D-sub 9 pin RGB port on the back. For input I want to use an Extron Super Emotia's RGBS sent over 4xBNC. These kind of devices were made for each other so I'm assuming there must've been cables available in the past? If not any sources for them now?

    EDIT: the D-sub 9pin port seems to be labelled digital RGB? There's a VTR connector (some kind of camcorder input?) but I can't find any details for that either... probably just going to have to hack together an RGBS->SCART cable. Any ideas or comments still appreciated, though.

    EDIT2: if someone knows of a resource where service manuals for PVMs can be found (without having to pay some super shady Russian service manual repository) I'd be much obliged.

    The port is a DB9, usually it can either carry normal (analogue) RGB or TTL (digital) RGB. If there's no option to set it to normal RGB, you won't be able to use it. Pinout as follows:

    1=R
    2=G
    3=B
    4=ground
    5=ground
    6=composite sync
    7=not used
    8=not used or H-Sync
    9=not used or V-Sync

    Assuming the PVM has a SCART, you can use something like >>this<< along with some BNC to Phono adapters, and x2 standard phono cables.

    Thanks for your input.

    There's no switch on that d-sub port, so I guess it's TTL.

    I went with one of these in the end:

    Have to wait and see if it does the trick.

    Not sure where the audio phono connections will go but my SCART switchbox has some phono inputs so hopefully I won't have to piss around too much there.

    Just get some BNC to Phono adapters off eBay. You can then use two pairs of standard phono cables to wire it up.

    I have a bunch of 'em. My point is, that SCART adapter doesn't have any audio inputs, phono or otherwise, and the SCART socket on the PVM doesn't have any externally either.
