I may think of going with you for the SEGA everdrive when more are in stock as it comes with the shell. The problem with that is when I got my retrousb PowerPak for the SNES which is also American and uses the same postage service I got a huge £18 customs fee here in the UK on top of the £100 for the product. There is no way I'm running the risk again. Is there a way if I do get one from you that I can avoid the ridiculous fee or am I better off getting a board only from Europe and possibly the cart shell from you? I just thought I'd ask being it's an Everdrive post made by you.
Yeah we could figure something out. Could possibly have Igor ship you a board and I ship you rest and you can put together yourself. You would just need a 4.5mm Gamebit. We will have more ready to ship on the 3rd. We can also declare package as whatever. The issue is that whatever we declare it as is only what we can refund in the case of a lost, damaged, or stolen package. Our insurance company bases the value on what we declare.
Didn't you throw in a gamebit with the kits at one point? I remember reading that somewhere at a forum called Digital Press.
We don't make the kits anymore (no one ordered them). I do have some gamebits. I could probably send you one, but they are junk. They strip out really easy.
If I go for the Deluxe version. Is there anyway of actually sending one from US to UK without the customs fee like sending it as a VHS since the case is VHS size or do VHS tapes have customs tax like sending one as video games?
I can send as a gift and lower value and that may avoid fees, however like I said if package is lost, damaged, or stolen I would only be able to refund the declared value. Our system requires us to declare something. The value is the issue. Most countries tax imports over a specific value. For example Brazil taxes anything over $50 value 60%. I am assuming the UK is the same, except the tax is obviously lower. Sorry I can't risk just sending a $100+ dollar item and hope it gets there and if it doesn't I am out $100 item+shipping. When it comes to international items it either has to be legit or the importer has to assume the risk. I am not assuming risk. Which I am sure you understand. This is why almost everything we ship international that is over a certain value is insured. Especially First Class since there is no actual confirmation of delivery.
Fair enough. I'll do it the other way then where I buy the shell and possibly the SD card from your store and the main card from Europe if I do decide to opt for an Everdrive. Just have to wait until my January statement comes through to start my process if I still wish to do so by the time. To bad the circle only bit for my IT screwdriver is just a tad too big not even a full mm.
