I just received my Tototek T-Connector and I am trying to use it with my Super Everdrive and Super Mario Kart. I have the Super Everdrive plugged in the top and Super Mario Kart on the side slot. When I power on my SNES all I get is a blank screen. Super Mario Kart works fine when it's in the SNES by itself and the Super Everdrive boots up fine when plugged in to the T-Connector when the toggle switch is set to up position and no cart is plugged in to the side slot. I have tried it with the side switch up and down but that doesnt make any difference. I cleaned the Super Mario Kart pins too but to no avail. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? All my stuff is PAL by the way.
Here's a video that may help. I have no experience with the t-connector myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJfzQetP7HA
What game are you trying to play it with? From what I understand there is a DSP2 and DSP3 game that won't work with it. Also If I remember right pilot wings needs a special rom hack. Lol don't know how coherent that was just my 2 cents.
@MasterOfPuppets Thanks. I watched that video myself before trying other things and posting here. I also thought maybe my Super Mario Kart had to be the other way around but all that did was blow the fuse in my SNES! Now I'm replacing that with an old 2 Amp glass fuse. @Teancum Choosing a game to play doesn't even come in to it. I plug in the T-Connector with my Super Everdrive up the top and Super Mario Kart in the side and when I power on I get a black screen. I don't get the Super Everdrive menu so I don't get to choose a game or do anything at all. From what I have read: Dungeon Master is DSP-2 SD Gundam GX is DSP-3 Top Gear 3000 is DSP-4 Theyre some of the DSP games that I believe wont work.
Oh I see so the everdrive doesn't even boot. Well that counts my knowledge out lol. Not sure what to do from there.
It sounds to me like he's trying to use his Super Mario Kart cart with a T-connector, to make the Super Mario Kart rom play on Super Everdrive.
Have you tried contacting Tomy, either by e-mail (tomy1122 at hotmail.com) or via the contact form (http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=contact_us)? You may also want to ask on the Tototek forums. I have a T-Connector hooked up to my Super Nintendo (NTSC) and Super Everdrive, and it has given me no problems. From what you've said, I can't see why yours wouldn't work, so maybe you have a faulty T-Connector.
I'm trying to get as many games working as I can on my Super Everdrive so I'm trying to use my Super Mario Kart with the T-Connector to play all of the DSP-1 games. I'm starting to think that it must be the T-Connector which is faulty like YAGRS said. I was thinking that Tototek might not help me with any questions since I am using the T-Connector with the Super Everdrive and not the cart made by them.
T-adapter is only for lockout chip and I don't know if everdrive has the lines on it to use the adapter.
Tototek is selling the Super Everdrive as well, so I wouldn't worry about them being unwilling to provide support. I would go ahead and ask. Like Greg2600 pointed out, the Tototek forums would be a good place to ask as well. As for the Super Everdrive being incompatible with the T-Converter, someone posted a YouTube video in a thread on these forums that showed DSP-1 games being played using the Super Everdrive and the T-Connector (I can't seem to find that post now). I have used the T-Connector with Pilotwings and have been able to play that game.
It does work. I've tested it with my own Everdrive. The only DSP game which doesn't work is Pilotwings, because the T-Connector only supports Hi-ROM DSP games. However there's a Hi-ROM patch available for the Pilotwings ROM.
