Just got my super everdrive V 1.5 from a shop in Germany. Waited 3 weeks to get to USA. It will not do anything. When i insert it into my SNES i get a blank black screen. It never displays anything. What can I try? I have a donor DSP-1 cart on order but it isn't here yet, so I haven't done anything to the Super Everdrive other than plug it in and turn on the SNES. ANY IDEAS to try? Thanks!
I am not sure if its user error or not in your case, but I had a Super EverDrive returned not that long ago with same problem. Weird thing was I test them all before I ship and it worked fine, but customer claimed just a black screen. When I received it back the customer was indeed right it was just a black screen. So something happened to it from the time it left our facility to when the customer tried it. We package things very well so I am not sure how it could have become damaged.
Didn't come from you. You were out of stock. Came from Germany. (GP2X) Any ideas what I can do to fix it?
I know it didn't come from my store. My point was I had one returned with same issue, so my guess is its DOA. If you can't get into the menu then there's not much to try. I assume the SNES works with other games so I doubt its an issue with the SNES unless its modded.
snes everdrive have multiregion chip. probably cart was damaged while shipping from me to gp2x, or from gp2x to customer. looks like it is the case when need to send cart to me
Remember they pass mail through powerful xray machines now and nuclear detectors in u.s., it must be in double static bag or there may be issues.
Hmmmmm, I wonder if that's what's wrong with it. When I got it from GP2X, it was wrapped in bubble wrap in between some paper packaging in a box. No static bags what so ever!
i did not use anti static bags also, but US recipient always got their cart in working condition. around 1% of carts have some real defects which is not detected on testing, but i think that it is typical for any electronics stuff
Yeah none of the ED I get from Igor have static protection and very few I have had problems with. I do protect mine with static when I ship though.
Xrays are used in manufacturing of electronics. I dont see how there is any risk from X rays when its used to check inspect BGA chip placement. In short, xrays will not damage your electronics.
Got my replacement unit from Igor, and all is good. Soldered in my DSP1, and I am loving this thing!!!!!
Only things I know to be in danger of damage at X-Ray machines are low freq quartz crystal based oscillators and certain types of semiconductor laser diodes on optical drives.
