    Hi guys,

I'm in the UK and I have a Super Famicom. I'm using a bodged together PSU and the console is starting to display feedback on the screen. My assumption is that this is the PSU, as an Americsn console is fine with the same plug socket and RGB SCART.

Doe anyone know what voltage and amps the PSU should be? I can't find anything definite online. The PAL console uses 9v 1.3a, but the American console is 10v 850ma, so it's not consistent.

My SF is probably an early model, as the sound hardware inside is in a little metal unit that plugs into the mobo. Current plug is 10v 1.2a of a generic brand, complete with bodged up plug on the console end. Thanks people.

Following some more research, the Mega Drive 1/Master System 2 uses the same PSU!
My Super Famicom however, has ceased to output feedback on the video, even with the old adaptor.
Earlier today it had wavy lines on the screen, most noticeable in areas of bold colour. Could this be a fault? I'm tempted to buy myself another Super Famicom in case mine is on the way out.

I can't remember which way round it is, but UK SNES uses AC 9V whereas Jap Super Famicom uses DC 9V, so you can damage them if you don't use the right PSU for it.

My guess is that you've either damaged the SNES, are using a wonky video cable or the caps are about to fail.
