So I recently got a Super Famicom console, it works, but when I plug in either a composite AV cable or an brand new SFC S-video cable, it seems it works fine,
except when there's no graphics on my CRT tv well on the blank screen there's a very light translucent bar down the middle of the screen, but it's only there on a "black" or blank image.

So anyone here know the cause of such a distortion and any way to eliminate it?

normal and present on every SNES console. The fix is to solder a 470uf capacitor to the output leg of the 7805. putting a cap on the video encoder isn't really necessary, you pretty much wont see any difference if you already have a cap on the 7805

Sadly, I have no experience or skill with repairing or modding electronics. just watching a video or reading how to do it doesn't really help me, i'm too nervous that I could damage something and I haven't the money to buy a replacement Super Famicom console.

I have yet to find someone near Los Angeles that would know how to do that mod with the capacitors. It nice to know that it is possible to get rid of the vertical light bar distortion.
my main concern is if was a sign of my console needing immediate repair/on the verge of dying.

nah no need to worry, its perfectly normal. The mod is incredibly simple to do for anyone with any soldering experience, so I doubt you'll have any trouble finding someone to do the mod for you. Even if they've never done the mod themselves, they should be able to do without any problems provided they are competent with a soldering iron.

The white band is normal, see it on my super famicom in same matter. Just a flaw in the hardware design.
