    Hi,

    I was reading this article.. http://www.kombo.com/article.php?artid=13410 ...
    It mentions that SMW was originally being made for the NES, and provides a screenshot. Does anyone have any further information on the title at this stage of its development? Thanks!

    there's quite a few screens of that iteration in many older magazines. It's no secret that SMB4 was in development for the Famicom/NES after the highly popular SMB3.

    The power ups were changed for the SNES version however and I don't recall any Yoshi action going on.

    Here's another interesting piece of Nintendo history. Apparently Super Mario 64 started out as a NES game as well! Hard to believe but just look at this image:

    :lol::lol:

    Jokes aside Super Mario FX was the precursor of Mario 64, intended for the Super NES/Famicom. Allegedly though there wasn't much progress nor any concrete gameplay mechanics planned.
