Super Nintendo cartridge ROM swap

Hi! My goal is to put a Final Fantasy III ROM into my Final Fantasy VI SuFami cartridge.

1. Is there a particular reason that the 29F032 chip (with DIP36 to TSOP40) is popular for this sort of procedure?

2. If there isn't a particular reason for the above, what chips should I be looking for as a direct replacement without the need for an adaptor?

3. Keeping in mind I'd be happy to build adaptor boards, is there a particular ROM burner that people would recommend?
