Super Nintendo Pro Action Replay mk1 question

Hi and thanks! Ive been looking around for a pro action replay and was instructed to buy either a mk2 or mk3 version, due to the mk1 not have the full pins available for some games. While looking, i did notice that most mk1 PARs have a smaller top connector than the mk2 or mk3. But not all of them. Some mk1's obviously have a connector that will accept thd full amount of pins. Does anyone know anything about this? Will those mk1s work with games that use all the pins?
