I have a Weiya CV-04 RGB to NTSC/PAL converter board that for the most part works great (tested with a Konami System 573 and Konami Python 2), but the Naomi has been giving me trouble. The Naomi is being run through a CAPCOM JVS IO board with the sync switch set to composite. Naomi is set to output at 15KHz. The Naomi is being powered directly with an ATX power supply, negating the need of IO board's JVS power port. Most games look OK for the most part, but certain scenes (such as the Naomi logo and explosions in shmup games) cause the screen to either roll or have an inverted & distorted image that eventually goes away. For example, the Naomi logo has it's colors inverted until the screen greys to show a message, which ends up being so washed out I'm unable to read the text. Is there anyway to fix this? I can post pictures if it's not clear what's happening. I'm thinkng the CV-04 might be driving the colors too high. Unfortunately, two of the RGB pots broke so I'm bypassing them with resistors. Maybe I have the resistors rated too low?
normally people use 500ohm potentiometers when building superguns or use the resistors between 80 and 150ohm until you get the picture you want, 1K ohm is too high. Also it could be sync problem with the naomi.
