Yeah, I agree. Vide game hacking has also proven that all the 16 levels as promised exist in the game. Therefor, they were pretty much ready with the game. All they had to do was fix all the glitches and make the game better. Rather than that with the remaining couple of months it looked like they had to remake the game completely.
Nice article! But the original Superman 64 it's one of the most annoying games i have ever played! Awkward controls,mediocre graphics,crappy gameplay! Some stages were too difficult to deal with, considering the controls of the game.
In my opinion the game is not that bad, i've played some stages and its "fun" and hilarious for moments (cars bigger than houses and things like this) And is NOT really hard, just need some practise, but who minds, AVGN play 5 minutes (with REALLY bad skills) and thats it, its a shit, actual game doesnt matter, only tutorial stuff. There are some worse games on N64 Beta looks quite interesting Awkward controls? REALLY? On N64? Have anyone actually played other N64 games? Most of games have shitty controls, specially the driving ones (Cruisn' FTW). Buck Bumble have like a million times worse control than Superman 64 on flying-level-stuff
I don't know if people dislike it more because of AVGN or not but what AVGN did was a complete mockery. Sure it's easy to miss a ring or two but AVGN was flying all over the place like an idiot. I beat the ring stage on my first try. Think he intended for his video to be like that.
Brandon.F, AVGN plays it only because people have sent him millions emails with requests to do this game. Superman64 is a meme - not many people actually played it but everybody knows its that bad. Anyway, the beta version looks way better than the final game))
Superman is a concept that really shouldn't exist in the first place, aside from an incredibly rare crystal the man is invincible during most renditions of his character. Which is part of the reason its hard to make a game about him. How do you make it fun when the man is basically a walking GameShark? That aside the beta looks good. And the AVGN can suck a rail, his schtick got old a while ago.
