Random freezing, nonexistant support and a "it's your shit that is causing it" attittude. If you buy this game, be prepared to find a patch not even hosted by the publisher, saves not compatible if you do patch, memory addressing so CAVEMAN that going over 2gb pagefile crashes every game. That or: Random game freezing. This is the best. ESP after 4 hours of gameplay. Save errors! "Save failed" is my new favorite saying. Random AI opponent crapouts. (not moving, not building, not attacking) Buggy point defenses in skirmish (great for following the enemy with a trail of gunfire, but never striking him. Walk him right into your base where your own turrets destroy your base) Naval units that bunch up with the slightest contact, and spin in circles trying to get away from each other. (don't bother building more than ten units) Expensive enemy ELITE units that never: build nuke missiles... build planes... or submerge, despite the fact that they are submarines and that is the whole damn point of that unit. Enemy bases that despite being level 3, keep throwing hundreds of level one units against your single point defense, to lose every time, for hours with no strategy change. A unit cap of 2000 units unti l the game crashes... However the game supports 8 players, with 500 units each meaning... 4000 units In short : great idea, worst ai ever, random freezing, no support, fun when it works. Seriously, the ai in red alert is better, and that game is some seven years old.
Huh, I kinda wanted Supreme Commader. I mainly play DoW though. My few complaints about that game is the horrible AI pathing and units going into melee (like Fire Warrior units) when I have all Fire Warriors set to "RANGED STANCE: STAND GROUND". That annoys me, because if some 20 foot tall Demon was running towards you, would you stop shooting your laser weapons and run up to it and start whacking it with the blunt sides of your super power laser guns? Freakin stupid. Not really Relics fault, but there are some really unbalanced mods out there. In the Tyranid mod, for example, its almost impossible to win as Tau on any map. Some other maps for regular races, however, are nigh impossible with certain races. There is one snow map where Necrons always win. I don't think my PC could run Supreme Commander well anyway.
Im playing a MMORPG at the moment which randomly locks up my pc as well, I found out its because of my GFX card which just craps out on this particular game. But yeah the support in online games is pathetic "You lost all your gold in a d/c? boohoo for you" "you just spent 3 months collecting and buying stuff to forge some ultra-rare item and you lost everything in a NPC glitch? boohoo for you" this one im playing atm had the most ridiculous bug, its the international version of a korean (or jap, not sure) mmorpg, and thousands of ppl couldnt play because no text showed up or only squares showed up! I had this same bug and I solved it! Such a n00b mistake by the devs... The whole game text was using some obscure asian font which isnt installed by default on non-asian windows versions xD So only people with asian language support could play fine.
Codeman, where you playing Lineage by any chance? I hear a lot of people say its the best 3d MMO ever, even though they said it wasn't saying a lot, because it was an MMO...
I tryed the demo and said fuck it right there. Then I went out and bought Command and Conquer 3 lol. C&C3 is a great game and I really recommend it, they even have a demo you can download to try it out
I stopped playing SC a while ago.. The game had potential, but it was pretty imbalanced and by the time they fixed the most glaring issues it was too late. The fact that they totally canned DX10 was another kick in the teeth..
Is it just me or are devs getting lazier by the game release (especially devs doing games with a decent or better budget)?
ah thats crap was looking forward to trying out supreme commander when i upgraded my gfx card but i guess i'll leave it for now. may as well stick to my c&c first decade and then buy c&c 3 thats ashame not in a bad way becuase all c&c's are good games but was really wanting to try supreme commander
Gee, that sounds just like the original Total Annihilation  But dammit, I was really looking forward to playing this. It looked the bomb diggety (sorry GP for stealing your phrase)
As far as the 360 games, I have a theory that after 6 months the devs no longer care to patch the games. For example, R6V is still extremely bug-laden (shooting thru walls, sound bugs, sound loop glitch, bad spawn triggering, weapons issues, etc.).
Yeah, I seriously haven't ever played as many buggy games then these new ones. I think every 360 game I have is glitched in one way or another. The biggest one so far was Condemned, and some other games have serious glitches that make it impossible to complete the game.
It sounds like Oblivion for me, except I actually have fun playing it. I just wish it wouldn't lock up every time I tried to exit the game. The random crashing to desktop is pretty fucking annoying, too.
I tested Gears for PC last week and it had a ton of bugs/glitches. I had an enemy that from behind cover flew across the map. My partner in the game was constantly just shooting at the walls and crouching in corners. I also ran into problems with triggering events to allow me to advance to the next area. It was a pretty bad testing experience... What's with dev's slacking these days? Is it the big dogs (M$, Nintendo, and Sony) who are pressuring them with deadlines? Whatever happened to quality titles like Mario64 that were almost completely glitch free???
Mario 64 had a lot of glitches, didn't it? Like the trick to climb the infinity stairs before completing the requirements to get up them, etc. Jumping through floors, and how to reach the top of the Castle without getting all 120 stars? Among other things.
