Douglas Perry, editor at IGN, announced on the IGN boards that he is going to be doing a very special announcement today about a game we would never, ever have expected. "Check back in the early afternoon PST for an exclusive story on a game you would never, ever have expected. IGN Xbox 360 will have the first details, news, screens, and an interview with the company's president. Can you guess who it's with?" No Doug, we're no psychics so we cannot guess who it's with. Please tell us more! Which he does: "OK, sojust for clarification, we're hoping to post a story around noon tomorrow, maybe earlier that's PST time (California time) that nobody has heard about. It will be on the Xbox 360 site. It's an exclusive Xbox 360 game. None of your guesses are correct so far. I was totally unable to guess what it was until I heard about it two days ago, and I'm still amazed by the subject matter and the people putting it out. Sorry to be such a tease about it, but I haven't even told my team about it yet. I can't say a word. Anyway, I expect the range of reactions to be wide in range and long in wind. Heh. And, in order to avoid the mess that happened last fall with a certain midnight review that never happened ( ), let me put it this way: Don't stay up all night. Please do not. The story won't be up until tomorrow Friday, March 3, around noon PST at the earliest. Go to sleep, do whatever, beat people up in Fight Night Round and then gather round here about noon-ish. I should have an update on the exact timing earlier than that, but not everything is tied up tight. There are still a few loose ends before I can concretely give an exact time. Until then I look forward to your guesses. This should be fun." -------------------- So, this should be interesting Shenmue 3? a new Panzer Dragoon? A big name PS3 game jumped ship? Clayfighter II? Well, we'll have to wait and see ....
Final Fantasy? Or some Mahjong game? Is he copying Sega from back in E3 2k4 when they had a big announcement and it turned out to be nothing worth saying?
This is from Midway going on XBL Paperboy, along with err Root Beer Tapper, Cyberball, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat.
And for the rest of the world that has no idea about the American time zones, what the hell is noon Californian time in real time ? GMT that is. Yakumo
well i live in california, and looking at my phone its mar. 3 9:18 am while its 2:18am in tokyo march 4, i guess that answers the question (sorry not too good with gmt time).
Yakumo> US Pacific Time is -8:00 GMT. (hint, you can always find out how time zones relate to GMT by looking at the Time/Date applet in Windows). -hl718
The fact they're saying "never, ever have expected" indicates a game that has generally been on a competitors platform. Some new Final fantasy? ...Shenmue 3?
If its Shenmue 3 I will personally get in my car, put the top down, and do doughnuts in the parking lot while playing the SHenmue soundtrack and raving like a lunatic. But thats just me. And ill just assume its a non announcment, and overhyped, so as not to be dissapointed, just in case
mario kart? smoke and mirrors? NiGHTS? Nahh.... NiGTHS is just a perfect match with the revo. but i'd like a nights sequel on 360 better than no sequel at all. a new gta, perhaps? They need their new one per year, or they arent milking the serie enough, remember.
Nights re-release with a xbox 360 wireless version of the analog pad, plus a perfect saturn emulator!!:love::love::love::love::love: Now that I have your attention, it probably is some crappy ping pong game.
Oh well, lets just say that i have more respect for rock star now. i guessed good with rockstar though.
