Anyone heard of this game? I saw a video of it on youtube and it looked ace. The only copy is going at £65 BIN on ebay, though, which is ridiculous - is it really rare?

I don't want to flaunt the rules re: asking for prices, but is £65 really a typical price?

I'm somewhat excited to see a topic about one of my all-time favorites, not only on the SFC but in general. I first got to know about it through a special in the Japanese gaming mag Continue some years ago, tried it out in an emulator and immediately fell in love with it.

I finally bought a copy on Yahoo Auctions last year for 2000 Yen. That's for a complete copy with a slightly damaged box. It is a rare game but demand is low as not many know about it and it's quality plus it's a platform puzzler which is not the most popular genre either. If I were in Europe I would probably pay up to 30 GBP for a complete copy in good condition. I think that's a fair price for both seller and buyer.

The game really is great, has a large number of well-designed levels to keep you busy for weeks, and a charming main character that is characterized by it's functions (sutte + haku = sucking and spitting (blocks and colors)). Definitely give it a try. I particularly like the scoring system which rewards you for clearing the level in as little steps/actions as possible with no time constraint.

It was developed by indies zero (link) who also did Electroplankton.

One interesting history detail from the developer's website that is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article is that the game was originally written for the Famicom Disk System as a project for a game seminar sponsored by Nintendo and advertising agency Dentsu. That explains the rather simple (but charming) graphics.

Finally I think it would make for a great NDS release. Won't happen though.

Wow... Thanks for posting about this cuz I have never heard of this game either...
And those videos. Is it me, or does this game look "too" fluid with its animations? I dont know, it looks really smooth, not to mention the graphics look superb for that of the SNESSY!
    I gotta find this now.

It's worth mentioning that this game was featured in the Super Famicom thread that used to be prominent in this forum. That's how I found out about it.

The answer to your price question would be - depends how badly you want it, and how lazy you are! If you really MUST HAVE it, and/or you're not prepared to wait or go through the hassle of finding and ordering it on Yahoo! Japan, then that's not surprising for a "rip-off collectors" dealer. Personally, I'd look for a cheaper source.

One of my alltime favorite super famicom games. I own the satellaview versiones too.

65 pounds is too much. Wait till you get it for less, but then be sure to grab it.

A question to anybody playing this game; how the hell do you beat that level with the three boxes sitting on the ground and no liquid? It's in the first stage. I know I've done it before because I've gotten pretty far in that game, but I can't for the life of me remember how I did it.

    You mean 1-8 right?
Put on the right sight the box and jump right then you can easily put the other ones.

I am sorry, but I really need help with 1-8 as well. I have gotten pretty far, but would love to finish up the first world, ahaha.

And I am sorry, but your explanation is really hard to follow! No offense or anything! :icon_bigg

    This game is sweet.

Also, does anyone know the function of the L button? It seems to select the box you are closest to, but whats the point?
(Nevermind. Found out 2 seconds after I edited this, hahaha. It makes it so that you will only suck up that box incase there are multiple boxes next to eachother. =])
