How to: Swapping over information badges from one console to another

*EDIT* Well, the hairdryer works very well for the other sticker too! All I did was heat up the sticker with a hairdryer until it becomes hot (hot enough that it's uncomfortable to touch). It then peels off pretty easily and sticks to the new case no problem. Only issue is the corner I pick at to start peeling seems to not be as sticky, possibly I've scratched off some of the gum or oils from hands has lessened the stickiness. Does anyone know the solution to this?

Hey guys, you know those big stickers on the bottom of consoles (they're usually metallic)? Do any of you know a way of removing them without damaging them so they can be put onto another console? I'm looking to do a case-swap, but I want the information sticker to be swapped over. I've tried getting under the sticker with a knife in the past, but that just seems to damage the sticker.

*EDIT* Huh. Warming up the sticker with a hairdryer took it off very cleanly and easily, and without warping the case (what I was afraid would happen, since plastic isn't too fond of heat). This was a thin sticker, but it should hopefully work on thicker ones too.

My trick for corners is to stick a stronger tape over the edge of the sticker and lift that. Sometimes you might want to fold the tape over on one side where it ends on the sticker so that you won't have to pick at that too.

For things that don't require heat, like screw covers on cellphones, I put a dab of hot glue and lift that. Just make sure the glue only covers the side you are lifting or else you are going to be picking it out of the glue backing.

That's a good idea! So you just heat up the sticker then lift the corner up by sticking some strong tape to the corner?

Exactly. :) Works great for plastic and foil. It's use it as a last resort on layered paper labels with print.
