I like using my Wii Remote as a controller on my computer. The Joy-Con looks very useful, can it be paired with a Windows computer? I know a driver will have to be created to actually use it - but will it even pair?

Chances are out of the box no unless its bluetooth, which I'll assume might be the case but that also means you'll need a way to map things unless Nintendo expects this to be used on PCs which I doubt greatly.

Iirc, so's the Wii U Gamepad, and it took some serious hacking and quite a lot of time to get that thing going.

+1 doubtful. I can think of only a single Nintendo device with official PC connectivity (that'd be the iQue Player). Don't think the Switch will change that.
