So I want to switch from AU to Docomo, namely because I want to have an unlocked phone that I use when I go back to the US and since AU has a screwy network...Docomo it is. I bought a smartphone (FOMA not XI) and I was wondering what the best NON 2 year contract would be. (I would mostly be receiving calls, doing mail and occasionally browsing the web). What plan would be the best for me? I looked at their site in both English and Japanese (I know Japanese) but it is still confusing as all hell. (If you get this, you receive this, if you want this, get this plus this but make sure you have this)......can anyone just tell me what the best plans would be? lol
Oh man, when it comes to phone contacts it's just a cluster fuck of confusing dead ends, "fines" and deals. I'd love to help but I end up getting my wife to come with me when I buy a new phone.
It really is awful isn't it? I wish they would have in clear English (or Japanese) saying this is a 2 year plan and this is not a yearly plan. This has so and so minutes and so and so data. But instead we get something that's like buy this to get voice, buy this to get data, but you have to have this to get data, buy this to get mail....good god really?
Those phone plans are designed by the same people that make the awful webpages. There's a gene to understanding them that gaijin don't have.
