Anybody know if it's possible to transplant a regular PS2's PSU into a TEST? Was looking for a conversion from 120V to 240V...should be trivial if the PSU boards are the same between the retail and TEST variants.

    Cheers,

As long as the TEST revision is the same as the retail revision you're swapping you should be fine.

    For example, a SCPH-5000x PSU with a DTL-H5000x PSU.

You just have to ensure whether the DTL has a PSU that fits in the area above or below the motherboard and ensure you have the same type of PSU - bingo!

I swapped out a DTL-H30001 PSU from an NTSC unit a week or two ago. The 110v was duly replaced with a 220-240v European PSU taken from a dying SCPH-30003 in roughly 5mins. It's running perfectly well.
