Hi guys! I'm trying to run external sync stripper based on LM1881 N on my Sony PVM 20M2. Here some pics: Tested on SMD 2, PS1, PS2, PCE etc. Voltage between 4 and 8 is 4,8V. I'm using female SCART. LM1881N is soldered like that: and connected: - CS-OUT goes to pin 20 on the SCART connector, the same pin you removed the original composite video wire. - 5v should connect to the wire you added to pin 8. - V-IN should be connector to the wire that was originally connected to SCART pin 20. - GND should be connected to any ground point. Why it is not working? I made 4 the same circuits and all not working. Without LM1881 SCART<=>BNC cable works fine on internal sync. There is no short cirsuits. Maybe Voltage is too low and LM can't start?
Try a resistor of 680Ohm in series on the 1881 sync output (CS-OUT > resistor > composite video pin on the SCART plug). The reason this may work is that the 1881 outputs a very high level. Too much for many SCART devices. The resistor forms a voltage divider with other passives in the TV.
Man, you got right! Input was swapped with Output ;-) Now works fine, but now with every console I have. PS one image is not clear, DC image looks like without any sync (ext and int). Dc has the same problem with my old cable with internal sync and with new one. Cable is true RGB.
