My main computer is down, and I had to reroute all of the cabling for my hard drive array. The main drive has what sounds like a bad bearing, or something horrible that happens when the motor goes bad. I'm in the middle of ghosting the drive, so it may be another day or so before I am back online. K
Damn, that sux. RMA it!! What brand and model is the drive? It could be that its just vibrating and causing that noise, and so to fix that, just screw the hDD tighter if you only screwed it in on one side. Always use RAID1 on the hdds with important data!!
Crash 'em all and let dos sort 'em out! Er, that sucks. At least it didn't bounce the head. I only started backing up my information a week before my last hard drive failure... saved my ass. I also had an xbox debug loose a drive, that sucks... makes the damn thing a paper weight.
Isn't there a system disk out there that lets u use a different hdd? I'm just assuming if there is, since it is a debug kit.
yeah, i tried that, it still wouldn't boot... it was pulled out of a trash pile... I think it might have been a live beta debug. I know very little about those but i'll continue this conversation in a pm.
a Goddamn $7 fan. The problem is it in a hidden away area, so it was the last thing to be suspected. System is up and running again. Seriously, antec fans are shit, they last about a year, then box or make craploads of noise.
