Red Lemon Studios developed it. Canned in 2000 for at least a year, news surfaced in 2001 that it would be a Europe-only release. Some sources suggest it was released.... pretty sure this is false, though.
Yeah, it looked like a pretty nice game. Kron has GD-R of it I think. I wonder how it played and if there was multiplayer?
Actually I believe he was considering sending it to belokk to be ripped. But then he released a Border Down rip the day it was released retail in Japan and Kron got pissed and that he wouldn't let him rip it anymore because of stupid stuff like that.
I can still remember when those words came upon the board. we were so close to have an other neat unreleased game :smt022
That screenshot looks verry nice for something that's 45% complete. Hope this one day will be ripped and released for all to enjoy.
Yeah, I remembered the Borderdown thing, I just didn't know this was the game that was going to be ripped. Aren't there a few other folks here without such a warez background that could be enlisted to rip the game? Wasn't Yakumo looking at ways to rips GD-Rs at one point, or was that just GDs for the music?
I was looking to rip the videos...still no luck though. I've been tired, so haven't tried all my other options.
I'm sure I remember a Prescreen section in Edge, about a 1stperson shooter for the DC. The game was gonna be one of the main online titles for Europe, and was to have either 16/32 ppl online multiplayer. And I'm sure i remember a similar screen shot to the one above in the couple of screen shots in the Edge article. So, was this that game? Will contine searching to see what articles I can find...
Ok, so does anyone here know this Kron chappie? Would he be up for selling the GDR so it could be ripped? Or, I am willing to purchase a BBA for the purpose of ripping the game, if he's willing. I have the software :smt024 Whatever it takes, all the unreleased DC games must be shared.... :smt023 :smt033
Yes, I know kron. He seems like a cool guy. He's even bought a few things from me :smt023 He doesn't like piracy though. He hangs out over at DC EMU or DC History (dreamcasthistory.com) if you want to get hold of him. Yakumo
Kron posted some more shots of the game at DC History http://www.dreamcasthistory.com/dreamcasting/viewtopic.php?t=122&highlight=bullet Looks mighty cool to me....if only he would to let us enjoy it too
Sorry to dig an old thread up but I remember all this over at DC History at the time, and it seems that all interest of this game has slipped away, did kron ever release anymore info or screen shots of this game since DC History vanished? I was particularly interested in this game seeing as it was developed by a Glasgow based studio On a side note I'm sure I used to buy stuff from Yakumo and Kron from that auction website "VGA" or whatever it was called
As a quick update to this thread I have very briefly played an incomplete version of this. There are at least two different versions of this game out there in collectors hands. Both incomplete although there may be other versions out there too. Sadly I do not own them or have access to them. The bit that I played was set in a warehouse or garage and the cool thing with the game was that you used the light-gun to shoot but moved around the levels using the D-Pad (I think on the gun itself but I may be confusing myself here). That gimmick aside the game was a fairly standard shooter but featured some nice touches such as interactive scenery - i.e. shoot the rope/chain that was holding up a ladder and the ladder would fall into place allowing you descend from the balcony. Essentially it was like a cross between Time Crisis/Virtua Cop and a standard FPS game. The nice thing was being able to negotiate the levels so you could effectively play a lot like Time Crisis and pop in and out from behind cover. Don't remember many enemies in the level (there were a couple but that was it I think) I only played a very, very brief section of it and this was back in the day. Would love to see it released even in incomplete form.
