One of my favourite arcade games when I was in elementary school was Teddy Boy Blues from Sega. One of the things I loved back then - and I still do - is the opening where a cute lady was singing - ok, not exactly singing since it was an 8-bit game - and the monsters of the games were playing the instrumentals. One of the most original and cute openings I've ever seen on a videogames, expecially if you consider the season it was released. And the melody is very catchy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi0LBQ6L2JA&feature=related When I played again this again on MAME today after years I noticed the name "Yohko Ishino"on the low of the screen. At once I wondered if she was a fiction name of real one so checked on Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_Boy_Blues ) and I found this: Then the next step was searching for the original song on YouTube which is as catchy as the instrumental version of the video game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjlFFywq8aE How nostalgic...
hehehe, nice find. Never bothered to check that myself even though I'm also a secret fan of the classic game. Yakumo
I remember playing a master system game called "teddy boy" when I was about eight, is this the same game?
It's the same game but it had different background music (which it was the reason I didn't like the Master System version) and well as no references to Yohko Ishino (I mean about the opening and her appearance on bonus stages).
