Hi! I was hoping someone here would be able to give me some advise... I'm looking ot do a TEFL course in the UK but don't know which one is gonna be more useful - CELTA or TESOL or are both rubbish? Many many thanks for any opinions
Do you know that TEFEL is a course to learn English while the others are courses to learn Japanese. I have no idea where you could take any of them in the UK though. Yakumo
Idealy find your nearest uni (if london soas does a great course that loads of my mates have done - osusume!) You can be any age and qualification as well. If nothing there, find your nearest college, even if they don't do Japanese thay will be able to recomend something useful. Freind of mine did his a-levels in Japanese through some random Japanese lady who a college put him in touch with) Just ask either a uni or college for their advice, it really depends where you live and if you want a qualification at the end. Actually the best thing would be if you have a degree (in anything) go along to a uni and ask to sit in their classes - you may have to pay - but at oxford they do them for free if you seem interested enough.
Thanks for the replies! I know where etc I can take TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) course BUT I wanted to know from people with experience if one certificate was recognised in Japan more than another so I dont blow £500-1000 & one month of my time stupidly. BTW I do have degree for blag purposes in Japan but its of the pshopd variety :/ Thanks!
