Hmm, looks pretty interesting. Love the fast tag-in combos, count me as excited. (from someone who hates Tekken)

I'm not terribly thrilled, mainly because I didn't like Tekken 6 very much. Hard to say why exactly; just didn't hold my interest. I actually liked most of the other games in the series, even Tekken 4, which a lot of people seem to dislike.

Me too, I wasn't excited when they released T6, I did purchase the game but within a week sold it.

I have to put my hand up and confess that I used to be a massive Tekken fan, heck I've even got the original Tekken for the PSOne (Special Cardboard Box Set) and the Big Box Set Tekken 2 both in mint condition.

But this TTT2 game looks awesome and seems pretty fast I'm feeling those tag combo (Tekken Tag Wrestling springs to mind) lol.

Tekken 2, 3 and 5 were the best. Hopefully this one will be just as good.

I totally agree with you but you missed out TTT.

Looking back I was pretty amazed how fast T3 was on the PS1 that pretty much set the benchmark along with MGS.

I never played to much of TTT to be honest. And i agree with you on Tekken3 on PS1.

Still, for anyone looking to get into the series, i recommend Tekken 5. The game is great, but also has the arcade versions of Tekken1, Tekken2 ver.B, Tekken3 and Starblade on the disc!

I remember preordering Tekken 3 and playing the demo (from the official magazine) when I was in hospital in September 1998 with a broken pelvis. I haven't bought another Tekken game since, in part because in the 6th gen I was a Dreamcaster but also in part because even now PSP or PS3 they haven't looked that appealing.

The tag system looks cool but it is nothing new and I'm not sure it will be enough to get me interested unless.. it was 2 vs 2 player co-op and not one player controlling all of the tag partners.

Now you're talking, I like the idea of 2V2 co-op mode that way you can blame each other for losing the tournament:dammit::shrug::dammit:I hope B-Namco take this idea on board, only draw back with that would be who takes control!

When you say the demo disc was it the one that came in a black CD case collectors edition? if so I still got mine:)

I see where you're coming from when you say you've pretty much lost the interest in the Tekken series, although I did purchase T6 but there was none of that wow factor.

It's like with Devil May Cry I loved the 1st and 3rd series of DMC but when the 4th DMC was released it pretty much lost the appeal because it was pretty much the same with polished graphics.

@ Johnny, TTT was simply awesome that was the 1st game I ever bought for my PS2, simply breath-taking jaw dropping at the time (well certainly for me).

You just got to love the echo ending when an apponent is defeated.

Having said all that I think I will wait for the SF X Tekken:thumbsup:

Apologies for going off topic slightly:banghead:

Yah it was one of those but I don't have it any more. The disc was mine but the PSX was on a trolley they wheeled around the hospital to differnt kids. When I left I let them keep it I think, well probably anyway. I remember giving them my Tomb Raider games anyway for the other kids to play on :p

Thats if you had the NTSC version (60fps) the PAL version was limited to 50fps and ruined the whole experience for me :<

Oh yes of course a very good valid point the game would only play @ that speed on a 60Hz machine as the PAL machines were almost 20% slower if my memory serves me right.

Are those PAL or NTSC versions?!? I want them! LOL

It seems that the juggles will be ridiculously long .. .even more than T6 was!

I also hope they have downed down the top tiers in this (Lars, Bruce, etc) and balanced the game a bit more, however I have a sneaky suspicion that Jun and/or Julia will be a bit overpowered. Usually the newcomers are in the Tekken and the Soul Calibur series

Julia is not a newcomer but she gets a lot of attention in those TTT2 trailers and she's changed her look a bit and we havent seen Jun since TTT1 so she is considered a "newcomer" in a way

I'm also waiting to see what improvements Heihachi had comparing him to Tekken 6. He is my main and it was a nightmare playing him against almost anybody experienced with his character

The graphics look much better than Tekken 6. Textures and animation have improved a lot. We'll just have to wait and see how the console ports compare to the Arcade version (inferior for sure!)

That "slow bounce" thingy + wall carry + walls + top tiers will be sick. Just wait for the top players to find out the best juggles and I am sure Tekken 6's juggles will seem "ordinary" after this sick juggling has commenced :p

The game will get better after some patching has been done but I'm almost certain the top tiers will be god tiers in this one.

Comparing this to T6 they should tone down

    Lars
    Bruce
    Bryan
    Law
    Bob

    and give a boost to

Hei and Kaz (not sure about Jin)
    Yoshimitsu
    Lei

I'm looking forward myself to check out "ordinary" Jinpachi. That DF+2 that pulled out a super fast uppercut in T5 DR was sick and broken as fuck (at least he was a boss there!)

Like I said again, the graphics and facial animations rock! I didnt expect that much of a change!

No, if a PAL machine was chipped or you disc snatched or had a serial port device etc, it would play an NTSC game full screen and full speed, it was only the PAL software that was compromised, not the hardware.

I like the Christmas themed stage! Looks kind of Sega like.

By the way, TTT2 runs on the new System 369 hardware, not 357. I think RAM is the only difference, but I don't know for certain.

Hmm.. First i've heard of this board. Got any extra info? I try to maintain a DB on Namco 246/256/357 games (20 million times better then the list Guru or system16 maintains).
    https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...XlDdVpEZ3c&hl=en&authkey=CMz7i8cO&pli=1#gid=1

Kind of strange it's on new HW and the Dragon ball game that's still being finished is stuck on 357 (they mention it on the site).
-edit- (hmm. after the site update, they took down the bit on 357 for DB).
