I know it's kind of an old movie, but I recently rewatched it and enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm not sure why I didn't appreciate it as much the first couple of times I watched it; maybe just because of the state of mind I was in at the time. Actually, I liked it the first and second times I watched it, but the third time I came to the conclusion that it was a masterpiece. Obviously the music is a lot of what makes up the atmosphere of the movie, but I also thought the design of the characters was interesting and the city itself was strange and unique. I also thought the dialogue was pretty good, as nearly as I can tell, anyway, since all I have to go by are subtitles. Now I need the Blu-ray (I've only seen it on DVD thus far) and the comic. So does anyone else have an opinion of this movie, good or bad?
Don't really watch anime, but I've seen this one. It was pretty good, but the ending was just crazy... Visually, it kinda reminded me of Jet Set Radio.
It's Tekkin Concrete... which is the standard concrete used in Japanese buildings (or is simply standard concrete and that's the Japanese name). Director is a friend of friends... not sure how I don't know him. I enjoyed it, but some of the organized crime cliche's I didn't quite dig.
