TEST [debug] PS2 Question

Hey guys,
Pretty sure this has been answered before, but i could not find the convo after searching...

I REALLY want to play the new Phantasy Star on PS2 when it's out...

... I only have TEST PS2, not retail, and wondered if the broadband adapter works ok with it... also, i doupt Phantasy Star will use it, but will the Hard Drive addon work with my kit as well?

If I get 5-10 later....I will try and load up my BBA to my test and try the twisted metal on line to see if it runs

The PS2 Network adapter will work fine, though the hard drive setup disc WILL NOT run if you have a DTL-H3000x series TEST unit.

is there a work around?
like setting up the HD on a retail ps2 then swapping it over?
